This post did pretty well on my "kukuandkookie" Instagram account (PSSST I have an Instagram; be sure to follow me for other artworks and pictures I wouldn't post on here!), so I thought I'd upload it here too!
I've been so busy with school since this year is so important I've barely had a chance to draw what I want anymore, so I doodle a lot now. Hopefully in the future I can update my social media more (YouTube, dA, Tumblr, etc), but yeah Instagram's been a good place to post my doodles.

These are just some concepts for a few new SU OC's I have (surprise, surprise)!
On the small sketchbook on (your) left, the characters are Dark Sapphire and Black Pearl. As a noble, Dark Sapphire is basically a benefactor of my Gem Labs thing, where scientific Gems work for the Diamonds with similar rules to medicine cats in Warriors (eg you don't have to show as much loyalty to the Diamonds and can interact more freely with other Gems from other courts and exchange info a bit more freely. Even wearing the diamond insignia isn't completely necessary - it's still technically required, but most Gems treat it like an option!).

But yeah, Dark Sapphire is usually pretty serious and keeps her eye hidden. She hates being disrespected and will only show her eye when angry or otherwise strongly emotional, and her Black Pearl listens to her every demand. His weapon is black armour that can morph onto his body at will - he can turn himself to a large armour-clad Goliath, or just turn his arm into a cannon if he wanted.

These honourary Crystal Gems meet their match when they have to deal with Carnelian, a Gem also from the Gem Labs. His Maroon Pearl is a shy sweetheart who has a very large crush on him, but since Carnelian is basically a psycho, he takes advantage of all the Gems around him and his team leaves him (the other Gems being Unakite and Bismuth, both of whom he experiemented on, and Bismuth being his bodyguard at first), and then later Maroon Pearl left too when Lapis from the Starry-Eyed Gems saves him.

Broken Pearls the Colour of BloodFor as long as I remembered, I was Carnelian's.
I'd come into existence for him. I was made to be his servant; I was a Pearl, after all. And that's what we were. We were to be there for our masters and we were to obey every command. It was our duty.
Carnelian was a scientist working for the Gem Labs on Homeworld, and he had a reputation that stretched far and wide. Some would call him insane, but I thought otherwise. He was brilliant; unique—he was smart in a way no one would ever quite understand.
But I wanted to understand. He was like a puzzle, and I wanted to solve him. I was made to be there for him, after all.
I belonged to him.
And maybe he wasn't mine, but... I was just happy being his.
When he was stressed, I was there for him, and he was stressed often from work. He was never alone. He had me.
I still remember once, when I was approaching him with new specimen for him to study, he asked me, "Tell me, Pearl... Am I good owner?"
I knew this dance. All I had to do was say
(I'll probably post it to my gallery in the future...maybe - just worried it won't do well asjakfl)

The sketchbook on your right basically just shows what happens when Carnelian comes back spoiler!: afterbeingpoofed.
There's also Unakite on there - all the "scars" on his back around his gem are caused because it's cracked from Carnelian's experiments. He transforms into a large beast when upset/angry.
Eye Agate even appears on this page! Since he's a part of the Gem Labs too and I know he'd hate Carnelian, I figured doodling an interaction would be fun.

Spoiler Alert!: Maroon Pearl later ends up with Turquoise Pearl! They call each other "Rooney" and "Turkey" respectively. The four-eyed fusion in the middle is actually a concept for Maroon and Turquoise's first fusion!
