Damien is a old, old dragon laguz who has seen and experienced a great many things during his life but seems to remember the worst bits of it the best, which has turned him very bitter over the years. He dares to expect only little good from his fellow laguz and even less from the humans, often sounding like he has already lost all hope in them. Even his sense of humor has taken a turn to something darker but at least he HAS a sense of humor.

He is confident enough to make his own decisions and stands behind them even if they would seem wrong in the eyes of the majority of people, he still believes in himself enough to not allow the opinions of other people to change him or his beliefs. Damien is simply scared to trust in people so he doesn’t trust in their opinions either, he alone is the only person who he can trust in these days. He truly wants to learn to trust others again but when he gets flashbacks about how badly things have ended every time he has given his trust to someone Damien turns nervous and attempts to add distance between himself and others. His way of trying to isolate himself from everything and everyone is just his way of trying to defend himself from bad things even when it really isn’t a solution. He is a man who is so stuck in his own ways and habits that he doesn’t even know how he could begin to change the way that he is right now.

Damien has spent most of his life alone so he is very capable of taking care of himself and will most likely be the one making a initiative during situations when others would hesitate to act. And he doesn’t do that in order to look brave, but because he knows that someone needs to make the first move so you can expect him to do what is necessary, even if you would disagree with his actions.

Beneath all the bitterness still lies a kind soul that has simply been dragged down by the harshness of life. Damien is hardly evil, if you don’t count the bursts of anger during bad days that he will later on regret, and can be surprisingly fair and kind. Because he understands what it feels like to be in pain, Damien could be judging you and your actions but that still doesn’t stop him from feeling sympathy towards you. Understanding emotions has never been an issue to him and that is why he is so good at dealing with his own emotions. He knows when he is at his limits and knows how to make himself feel better again, even if it sometimes takes a lot of time. Dealing with his bitterness, however, is another story and it will require the help of someone else to mend him...

He rarely does anything with high enthusiasm anymore and he is tired of seeing Libetellus in the state that it currently is in, but at the same time lacks the will to do something to change it. Damien happily leaves dreaming to other people, because dreaming only leads to more pain, and usually bases his decisions on facts and his own experiences because they are often right. He thinks that he knows how the world he lives in works so when someone tells him something that goes against the thoughts in his head, Damien will be very skeptical about your words. Following a plan based on someone else's hunch or feeling simply terrifies him because it is pretty much the same thing as going into a fight blind and hoping that luck alone will save you in his opinion.

History Details
History:
Damien is the only surviving member of his brood, as he likes to call his family, and someone who once shed his own blood and tears in order to fight for a better future alongside humans that he shared his trust with and managed to bring some good into the world during the era when things between humans and the laguz at the South weren’t nearly as bad as they are nowadays.

But with time things between Damien’s kin and a certain group of humans began to heat up and as a result a fight was born. Damien refused to fight such a senseless fight and when he still could he ran, he abandoned his pride and family and chose to live to fight another day. A day that never came.

Their fight has been long forgotten and he alone remembers it all and watches as generation after generation repeats their ancestors foul actions with a feeling of helplessness and disgust. He is tired of seeing all the bad the world has to offer, he is tired of getting hurt and seeing people hurt each other because of the most absurd of reasons over and over again. So he attempts to isolate himself from everyone else and keeps on living just because he is too stubborn to die.

Or perhaps it is simply his desire to see a hero raise from the ranks of humans and laguz both who would fight for the peace that keeps him alive. He wants to be proven wrong, but doesn’t dare to admit it because he doesn’t want to take any chances. He doesn’t want to jinx it.
