Description
Tried to combine a study with arty bits (mostly texture). I need to get into hand painted texturing (I don't use photos for texturing).Also these sketches are to build up to longer pieces, which I don't seem to have the patience to do at the moment. Reference used for some parts, the veil in particular, because I don't know how to paint veils

Thank you Laetitia, Aahh sweet thanks, yip I enjoy softer colour work (using softer brushes and transparencies in my work). At the moment I'm painting more opaquely as well. Yip, I love using black, I used to stay away from it but it can look quite beautiful next to pastel colours and bright ones too.

I agree with you, black can be nice too nexto to pastel colours ! Furthermore, black and the pastel colours in general are my fav' so together, it's a pleasure for my eyes

This is a beautiful swan and on the short veil I cannot see that you have a problem with painting veils, it is lovely.

I'm not sure , but maybe her head is to big? Not her face, but her back of her head.
