My first completed pony art of 2012
With copy+paste description from the Arena that is sad and broken right now:I’m not really sure what this is….G1 Applejack with G4 Applejack’s hat? A cowgirl Applejack? I don’t know
But here she is, in my favorite half-rearing pose that I totally overuse. I was trying to be a little more dynamic with the colors and shading than I usually am, but all the pink and yellow in the background dulled the effect quite a bit. (To be fair, usually my ponies are simply colored and shaded because I want to stay closer to the original style…but experimenting is fun too! )Inked traditionally with microns, colored with Photoshop

Of course, because MLP ponies are mostly based on Shetland ponies. But some sources say, that they are based on Welsh ponies... But I trust the first thing...

And as I see, many people can't understand, she is actually G1 Applejack with G4 Applejack's hat... They'll be better to look closer at her cutie mark...

It's hilarious how people are saying stuff like "OMG IT'S G4 APPLEJACK AS G1" No no, Applejack has been AROUND since G1. She kept the same name and looks. Only thing different is I don't recon her having a hat.
Anyways, this brings back my childhood and great job!

REally cool seeing G4 AJ's hat on her G1 self. Kind of funny cause I made them both the same pony in my G1/G4 fanfics! XD Anyway good job on the non-G4 art style!

Anyway, Zombie Magic Star is the best thing ever. It can be so dark and so hilarious at the same time.
How'd Applejack get to be immortal anyway, or is the answer in something I haven't read yet?

This is by far my favourite Applejack! Got the looks and sweetness of G1 (my gen!) but with the attitude of G4 Applejack. It's a shame they ditched her after Rescue at midnight castle, the original series really didn't give her any opportunity to shine!

Well, I'm glad you like my art, but you seem to be mistaking [link] for [link] . And I actually did this art based off of my actual toy pony anyway, who has 7 apples on her cutie mark and wears a green bow in her tail. So no. Her hair is exactly like it's supposed to be and her symbol is accurate.

But I'm not drawing the current one. I'm drawing the 80's one. So there shouldn't be a problem. I'm not following how the fact that my G1 Applejack looks like G1 Applejack bothers you...? And I'm even more confused as to why you think it's okay to ask an artist to edit their artwork to suit you.

Yuperoonie! I didn't like G3 though... I didn't like the art too much, and it really never appealed to me. I'm not going to bash it though, like a lot of people. <_<

I'm okay with the G3 art, but it seems pretty poor quality in a lot of places. The ponies look really awkward in a lot of screencaps and in the storybooks. (Of course, G1 was the same way, haha....) And the show itself is definitely over-the-top girly...but hey, ponies are ponies (as long as they're not G3.5
