Rin's family consisted of tengu yamabushi- practitioners of the Shugendō doctrine. And although he had no interest in becoming one, he still listened to their lessons and advices, and has come to hold the Shugendō belief close to his heart (but he is by no means a devout believer)
He loved the quiet life he has had so far, but at the same time, it was boring. He wanted thrill. So when his childhood friend left, he also packed his bags and followed- though the big problem was... he had no money. He ended up just following his friend around, until he (well, they) stumbled into Erzelem. He was beyond excited, and so at the soonest, he began taking on jobs- earning money, saving up for a small home for himself. It was nice. Still a bit normal, but this was a place he can grow to love.
