These are good, you should look out for the dark lines. Let your awesome shading dictate those lines. Also, try to draw away from the exaggeration that anime gives. Try to make them lighter feeling.

huh, thats really great advice! I can tell your an experienced Illustrator yourself; ) infact my teacher made some of the same points that you did but he didn't brake it down from an Anime perspective which makes allot more since to me... Great minds think alike

Wow. that's good for assignment. I'd kill to do something so cool to show off to my tutors.
I quite like the darkness within the image, to be honest in all your art as people seem to be frightened of grinding lead onto the paper for shadowing <3.

MUHAHAHA! Yes, I am the VOICE in your HEAD! XD but really it's cus... I don't know why I guess right I just say what comes into my head! It's probably cus I understand the concept of White = goodness, purity, innocence and Black = evilness, corruption and maleovence... I love mixxing it up like WHite Demons XD.

This is great. Don't forget to make sure the edges match in the lighting with the rest of the hand. The very edge of the subject are darkly outlined. That was my problem for awhile

Thanks! lol, ya... I'm trying to break myself of my old bad habits, because I've done mainly Anime style work in the past the transition to realistic has not been easy but fun! Your advice is much appreciated, I will watch my edges for now on; )

I grew up with mainly anime also. Realism wise you do so much better than I could dream. I'm such an impressionist, and it's hard for me to think in 3D. I bet if I really took the time, I could do realism. I'm far too impatient. Plus I can only do well on large paper.
My advice comes from my high school art teacher. I never understood what "blending the edges" meant until now. I thought it meant "make it darker" 
Your style sort of reminds me of Escher when it comes to hard edges and smooth blending, but yours has more feeling.
