Ya, I thought that about Isshin too, but now that Ichigo said that using the final getsuga takes away his powers, and we found out earlier that Isshin had the same sword as Ichigo. So maybe Isshin had to use the final getsuga in the past...
You know, knowing Kubo, he's probably going to cut out in the next chapter and instead go back to the others that are still in Hueco Mundo =/
