Description About a month ago, I managed to snag a fabric bundle on YJA that contained a darari obi, and the fabric for a second darari obi.  Well, the contents of my darari bundle arrived a couple of weeks ago, and this is one of the lovely pieces I was anticipating.  This is not the finished darari obi, it's actually just the fabric. Unfortunately, it's not enough fabric for the entire obi, only one side, and only about 4.5 meters. So at this point it's not really in sale-able condition for my shop. I have a plan to get it sewed up again, but the fabric will only be enough for me to create a one sided fukuro darari. The fabric is ro, so I figure I can find a couple of black ro obi bolts to supplement the missing fabric.

At the moment I'm not too sure what the motif on this piece is.  Myloko suggests that it's grape leaves, but I'm not sure the shape is quite right. Anyone else have any ideas?

The crest also appears to be somewhat old since we haven't been able to find it currently in use in Kyoto. If anyone has any images of this crest in use, we would appreciate seeing them!

They look like grape leaves to me too. The shape of them may be a little stylized, but I think the curlicues make sense for grape leaves. Grape vines put off little curling tendrils like that.
