Description
This is a beautiful ro darari obi I purchased from Ichiroya recently. It features a beautiful design of nightshade (nasuka) and once belonged to the Mi no Yae Okiya. You can see it being worn by maiko Makino here:

I originally thought this was a maru darari given the shine of the design, but when it arrived I found it to be a fukuro darari. Though much more of it is patterned than my vermillion butterfly darari, so it should be easier to don for our fashion show maiko henshin.

Given the amount that's patterned and shiney-ness of the design, I expect this obi is slightly more formal than my other darari. That said, this green darari isn't as nicely preserved. It's a bit more scuffed (thankfully mostly on the parts that won't be visible when worn), while the vermillion darari is nearly pristine aside from some fold lines.
