Yeah, but you mean, you'd like to draw the character too?

No, I can't stand anime or manga versions of visual novels, so I wouldn't watch it

Hmm honestly, I don't like censorship, and in this case toning down the violence would remove a lot of what's makes this game what it is. You know, I play tons of visual novels, and lots of them with adult content, sometimes very crude, so I don't like toning down

You know anime and manga adaptations will have to tone those things down a little to get a good rating. What I am interested in is the acting, story, and character development. Isn't that what makes a good story and not the blood & sex?

Not necessarily. I mean, it's not the blood and sex per se. The thing is, in a bunch of the games I've played, really important things happen during the most violent or sexual scenes. If you remove that, you have to remove content. Or place it at other moments, that may not be equally appropriate. Besides, quite often the problem isn't only the toning down. Lots of these games are actually romance games that have lots of different routes depending of the character you're pursuing or not. In anime and manga adaptations, they tend to make a weird mix of all the routes, without some of the most important parts of most, and often removing the romance. Because of that, the result is very bland.
And also, they often have little to no respect for the characters. A good example is the manga version of DRAMAtical Murder, in wich they change what the characters like or not and the story doesn't make lots of sense at some points. I'm interested in the character developement and story more than anything else too, so I don't NEED the games I play to have adult content, but if they have it, I don't care, since I know the characters and the story as they really are. More often than not, the story and the characters are really bland in the adaptations compared to the games. It's the case of Boris for example, since we're talking in the comments of this deviation. He's like not the same person in the manga, and it's very infuriating to me.
So yeah, I understand why do they tone down some things, but I don't like censorship and I mostly hate all the other changes they make to the characters and story. It's nice to see a game with success enough to make it to anime and manga form, since it makes it's even more popular and all, but if you ask most VN gamers about it, they'll sure be grateful for that, but they won't watch/read the anime or manga.
I hope you understand - I have nothing against people liking it and all, but I can't stand it because I love the games too much. I hope I didn't appear too rash or anything, that wasn't my intention, but to be honest English isn't my mother language, and this is a bit complex to explain just like that. So I'm sorry if I seemed like angry or something - it wasn't the case!
