This place was beautiful and had a very surreal feel to it. Its amazing to think that a little stream can form these kinds of geologic structures after enough time.

We had our group of 24 split into two different groups of 12 each. One went cross country until they reached a entrance of Coyote Gulch, while the other group followed a trail to another entrance in the opposite direction, what is known as Crack-In-The-Wall. We basically made a big loop and passed each other at one point.

This photo was taken on our groups third day of backpacking through Coyote Gulch, we woke up early and hiked out of Coyote Gulch along the Escalante river a few miles past Steven’s Arch to reach this grotto. I had to carry my camera above my head in chest high water, hoping I wouldn't slip; on many occasions to get to this location. However the reward for getting to experience such an amazing sight and being able to have the opportunity to capture this was well worth the risk.

It took over 20 shots for this panorama and its a little distorted but I did my best without a tripod.

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Utah. 2009.

you are hard core, backpacking and hiking for some shots???

it's an awesome shot, well worth it (although I would never do it, the hiking stuff).

Well I wouldn't say the backpacking was hard core but it was really fun and full of amazing sights. You may be surprised by how many people who say that change their minds once they try it. I've fell in love with it and plan on doing it a lot more in the future! Thank you for the comment and
I really appreciate your feedback!
