This came to be after a series of conversations with Kay Hau

Kay Hau's been writing a +Anima x TeenTitans(cartoon) fanfiction xover
(soon to be renamed, so I'll update the link later)

+Anima is a cute little fantasy manga where children that are about to die might get the chance to survive by gaining the ability to transform into or gain animal abilities (become +Anima)
It follows four +Anima kids (crow, fish, bat and bear +Animas)as they travel, get into and out of trouble

during the length of the fanfic we get a deep scientific view on how the anatomy of the +Anima kids would have to change for things to actually (syfy) work

and while we were speaking and all I decided to (a couple of years ago) try my hand at making the fish +Anima's skeleton (Husky, who looks pretty much like a merman [though he looks a lot more like a mermaid])

chapter 8 of the fanfic holds a pretty detailed description of the skeleton, so, it's a bit of a cross between the human skeleton, a porpoise's skeleton (to allow the up-down motion of swimming) and the a fish skeleton, dorsal, pelvic and caudal fins with rays and all
