Especially seeing slugma is described as being some-thousand times the temperature of the sun, yet in the anime they are shown slivering all over the ground and people with no harmful effect... Just something I found interesting

Ponyta is the same way. They're made of fire, for pete's sake and yet people are riding them. Maybe the "rule" for them applies to the slugma too. They say if the ponyta likes you, it doesn't burn. (don't ask me why I know that )
