Description The Tallest Tree

The eighty-seventh time they saw each other, they finally found an excuse to speak.

This series needed one sweet, naive, possibly non-polemic illustration. Here it is! Sketch here .

I really really liked this artwork. I went to your tumbler to find out more but then I couldn't find the story

Is there anyway I can read the story of (the tallest tree)?

Oh, actually, never mind - I thought you meant the accompanying sentence, but that's available here. There isn't a story - the point of the project was to make people imagine their own story from the illustration+title+line of text.

Oh I see now. Wow that leave a lot of room to imagine different plots for this story

I wonder what inspired you to draw this one

Yep, it's still here: rbessa-art.blogspot.co.uk/2011…

Links (here or on the blogspot post) don't work anymore because I've moved my domain, but if you go and explore the blog, you'll find all the stories.

Haha... I thought of a story about your piece...

I thought the guy works like in an office or something and like... he rides the subway everyday and stuff... And like, every certain day, at a certain hour (maybe after his work hours), when he rides the subway, he always see this dirty girl, who is always carrying some oranges. By soem reason he was really into her, like really attracted, but he never had a reason to talk to her... so one day he bought a juicer to give her the idea... and who knows about the rest?

Something about the male character is so striking ti me. I don't know i find him very attractive and interesting. You're very good at try to get your audience to guess the story without any text to go by. Your works seem planed out and resolved or finished may be a better word (idk). I love your gallery very inspiring. It made me realize what i need to work on as an artist. Composition is definitely my weak point. You have a strong sense of it though keep up the awesome work

Kyendo In reply to M-Jenai [2011-10-14 10:51:28 +0000 UTC]

Well, I love noses, so I definitely had a lot of fun with his profile - and thank you so much for the comment. I've always felt my composition was lacking so I've been trying hard to fix it. You honour me much, sir!

No problem. So are you selling a book that includes these illustrations?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kyendo In reply to M-Jenai [2011-10-14 21:49:46 +0000 UTC]

Not really - I made a book with these, but it was just for my master's final thesis project, I'm not really planning on selling them because they're very expensive to produce in low quantities.

M-Jenai In reply to Kyendo [2011-10-15 13:34:32 +0000 UTC]

Well from what I can see. He always wanted to talk to this girl but never found a reason. today she decided to climb an orange tree for some oranges and apparently it was quite the climb. Hopping on her usual train their eyes crossed and possibly smiles too. it's quite the coincidence that the man had bought a juicer in the same day.

From there I'm pretty sure they shared stories about themselves and life over all while making juice together.

Haha that's my inference on this picture.

I just love this. You make it so easy for the viewer to make up a story about these two characters. It's also very dynamic like something out of a really well drawn comic book.

You are the most interesting artist I've ever seen in my whole life. I'm not lying!

Whenever I see a drawing of yours, I always makes me wonder what's the story behind it, Curiosity!
I wish to know the story behind this drawing, yet I can't figure it out.

the way you draw is very wonderful! keep it up

Oh my, that's a very bold statement! I'm sure you'll spend the rest of your life finding lots and lots of artists that are way more interesting than I could ever dream to be - but in the mean time, thank you so much for your words. They made me smile like a complete idiot.

Isto lembrou-me instantaneamente do "São rosas, senhor, são rosas" apesar de não ter nada a ver com a ilustração em si, a posição da rapariga e a maneira como ela leva as laranjas é que me fizeram lembrar isso

And by the way, is there any reason why not even one (das que jΓ‘ vi) of the characters in this series have irises? Some of them are kinda dead, and some of them are supernatural, but most of them are pretty 'normal' but have no irises! D:

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kyendo In reply to gravity-zero [2011-10-12 00:23:51 +0000 UTC]

Olha, então isso pode dar uma bela interpretação da história, bora aí escrever isso que quero ver no fim.

Actually, there is, and it's very cheesy! It is, and I kid you not, because love is blind.

Yes.

Ahah, ok, I was going to talk about that in the intro poem, but then it didn't happen, so it remains a mystery to those who don't ask.
