I really like your depiction. Her gypsy clothes are very pretty, and look nicer than those of the film. Well done.

I swear, I'm not being a troll or anything, because I like the picture, but doesn't the book describe Esmeralda as always being barefoot?

I could have sworn that the book said it too.....oh well, my bad, I guess.

The famous musical of Plamondon and Cocciante was a better version of the tale, I say... Epic dark romantism.
Nice art, however!

I. Keep. Staring.
And I wanna steal your art style. <3
Haha. I started getting obsessed with The Hunchback of Notre Dame earlier this year. xD
And I started reading the book sometime last week. (and I mean... READING IT... not really skipping ahead for all of the Frollo scenes) D;
GAH I LUV THE BOOK AND DISNEY VERSION. <3
And your version of Esmeralda is amazing. <3 I luv her outfit and everything. 8D

awesome! the muted colors give a feeling of darkness and obscurity, and that sash really works.

Nice! It's good to see someone making fanart for the book rather than the movies. Don't misunderstand me though. Disney did a fantastic job on converting the story and making it their own, but nothing beats the book. Not in my opinion. Anyway, fabulous work. :]

I love the flair of the skirt!
I so wanna read the book because I know about the really grim ending. Strange I know but Disney kinda sugar coated the cutesy ending.

But, I love this! The color is wonderful, and I adore her mildly pirate-y look.

GAAAAH YOU WIN THE INTERNET I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS MOVIEEEEE
I have French HoND videos on my Youtube account, just search for "Bells of Notre Dame French" and click the one with the most views. Heck yes.
I have to get that book, you're the second person I know whose artwork was inspired by it.
I like this, it really looks like more traditional Romani clothing. Incidentally, an incredible movie with Romani actors is "Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht"

10 months after you submitted the piece...
I'm currently obsessed with the Disney movie, but I must say that I like your Esmeralda design far better than the one used in the film. It's exactly how I pictured her when I first read the book! Lovely work!
