Description
Just my vision of the character from Victor Hugo's "hunchback of Notre Dame". This is not supposed to be the Esmeralda of the Disney movie, though I certainly was influenced.The Disney movie was actually the movie that triggered everything for me, artistically speaking. I owe a lot to the artbook, which was my main "teacher" and remains my biggest influence.
Anyway, I have other drawings in store, but I am back for only two days, then I won't have internet again for two or three weeks (still working in the mountains on my comic book).
Thanks a whole lot to all you people who watch, comment and fave my stuff!
Done with pencil, colored in photoshop CS3 and using textures (don't remember where that one came from, though, sorry!!)

No actually she is supposed to wear little ballerina like shows. They are described when she is dancing for the first time.

The famous musical of Plamondon and Cocciante was a better version of the tale, I say... Epic dark romantism.

Haha. I started getting obsessed with The Hunchback of Notre Dame earlier this year. xD
And I started reading the book sometime last week. (and I mean... READING IT... not really skipping ahead for all of the Frollo scenes) D;

Nice! It's good to see someone making fanart for the book rather than the movies. Don't misunderstand me though. Disney did a fantastic job on converting the story and making it their own, but nothing beats the book. Not in my opinion. Anyway, fabulous work. :]

I have to get that book, you're the second person I know whose artwork was inspired by it.
I like this, it really looks like more traditional Romani clothing. Incidentally, an incredible movie with Romani actors is "Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht"
