Description Twitangst: Rejoined a certain social network and feel the taint of anxiety following every post and the swivelling wet watchful eyes of unknown viewers. Apparently it is necessary to gain more awareness of my scribbles. Not entirely sure it is worth it at this point.

I find all other social media to be brainwashing and rather unpleasant, besides dA... It makes me feel old, haha.Β

This is a lovely piece

Thank you very much, I am really glad you like it Β

Social media can definitely be brainwashing if you let it, but as with all things: everything in moderation is fine.Β

VeryΒ true, moderation is key. Social media, like many other addicting things, takes a lot of self-control to take 'in moderation' though, heh.

Haha, you are no stranger now!

You are right dA is a very different and supportive community and I consider this my internet home. The other networks are fine and have their own functions, but can be very overwhelming. I often have to take long breaks as get fatigued by the onslaught of chatter and advertisements. It can be a real assault!Β

Good tools when used well perhaps.Β

Absolutely deranged, I'am not good a social networks myself, I just message those who are close to me and when I post something on my wall I rarely write a description or reply with emoticons, lots of emoticons, because emoticons are better than talking and potentially giving away my secrets.

I get what you mean. It's tough as you never know how people will interpret your words. Twitter in particular as it is like yelling in a room full of strangers. Even worse when you yell and then get nothing but silence in reply. Spooky.Β

For some reason people seem to interpret everything I said as being either angry or apathetic because that's the way I was when they met me several years ago, I have given up, they gave me a voice that isn't mine and there is no way to convince them otherwise.

And twitter, scary indeed, same for Tumblr, everything you say seems to get lost in the shuffle.

I can relate to that for sure, very difficult to explain to someone from your past you have changed and people tend to have a lasting impression. Happens amongst friends and family and it takes a long time to prove otherwise. Same goes for judging other people too. Time and time again I feel like I have someone figured out and dismiss them only to find out they are one of the most lovely of people I happened to see on a bad day.Β

I don't think it is worth convincing people otherwise, rather better to demonstrate and if they still don't get it - no bother, you know you are doing well.
