Description Western Oklahoma

This panoramic photo spans from west to northeast, as the warm inflow collides with the cool air. (I actually took this picture just off of historic Route 66.) You will see a little right of center is the wall cloud lowering as the rotation begins to intensify, as well as the amount of rain fall. This picture or series of pictures is taken approximately 15-20 minutes and several miles from this picture ([link] ) and is almost directly south of the wall cloud and in its path. This was really the last of my "good" storm pics that evening since the rain, hail, and nightfall caught up with me.

I completely agree! Everything seems to have shifted more to the north in Kansas and Nebraska...

What lens are you using? A lot of people do these kind of storm panos but they're always overprocessed and have visible stitch lines. Excellent work

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

kylewright In reply to hougaard [2009-05-26 18:56:00 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! My work horse lens is a Sigma f/2.8 24-70mm. I've done some panos in the past, but I really have enjoyed creating them lately. The skies are "larger than life" a lot of the time in Oklahoma and this seems to be the best way to show the expansiveness of it all.
