Description
Finally done!Here's a brief on the story:
At the Darkmoon faire a goblin tended a tattered cage. Inside were three lions, the proclaimed sons of the king of the barrens- Echeyakee. The beasts were worn and tattered, malnourished and abused.
Kynlias and Roara stared at them in complete shock. How could such noble beasts be kept in such a state?
That night, they crept into the fair. With the help of a skeleton key the lock was picked, and the beasts were freed.
The two younger lions became quite attached to the females, while the older and wiser lion found himself by Jhavek's side.
Qiiakee, Hetakee, and Ishnelokee became the companions to three of the hunters in the guild Celestia...

Dang, that must've taken forever to color. I looked at the linework a while ago on your other account, and almost commented (seriously!) "Hahaha, wow... if you want more muscle, try coloring that in a single night". Now, you should be strong enough now to pinch a locomotive and it say "Ow! Geez!" or something.
Either way, sympathy cramps aside, this is goobered with awesome bits.
I enjoy how you did the grass efficiently, but managed to put in some shape to it around the feet and such. And you did a swell job on the architecture in the backdrop there. Some green bits here and there on it, fractures galore, and mingling fog and shadows. While I personally would have shaded it stronger, the way it looks now almost gives it a glow... especially the undersides of the arches seem a bit glowy, and it just looks neat... like the fog is really reflecting a lot of light.
Uh. the three kitties at first got me as seeming a bit inconsistently lit, but then I know that they seem to just have different colored manes. I dunno what I'd do to try to make that look more clearly... maybe just shade the joints harder? I know that's a tough call just cuz you've gotta shade everything more if you do that. And look at that, you did some excellent, superb shades on all the hair and manes. Dang. Double dang. Hot cha cha, half a cheer, and all that rah rah. ^3^
The trees are very smoothly shaded, so they look pretty distant. I'd encourage you to make the trunks smaller on the left... so they match more of the ones on the right... That'd add to the effect. And make em more enormous. But then, that's me.
Now, I can't say anything about the armor... while I think some shadows I'd do differently, I have utterly never actually done armor. So my mouth is sealed on that. The clothing is nice, tho. You really have a good idea of scale because I can compare anatomies and then see if the wrinkles in the cloth match up, and it all does. But then, good linework makes that much easier. I might add one crit tho... but I'm unsure about it... the left hand on the elf lady with the purple hair... she seems to have a lot of sleeve behind that left hand. At first, I thought the thigh wasn't fully shaded. Uh... you might put a stronger shadow on that feature. But that's an awful nit picky statement, so you know... don't worry about it
You have so many features in this, I won't bore you on that... but my favorites have to be the lion head on the armor, the way you deformed the patterns/insignia on the shirts, and the way you've posed all the figures and managed to weave so many limbs and such while keeping those poses easy to recognize and preserve.... I mean, geez... six figures? And a full background to boot? Great work, Kesh.
I thought lastly I'd just mention the little flower and fern on the left is also a favorite feature I've got my eyes on.
Man, You do some great, epic sized pictures Kesh. I LOVE them so much. I hope my fanart (which I'm trying to do big as well, just to honor your practice of being unafraid of the wild blue yonder) can hold up to even a fraction of that talent of yours.

The armor was especially difficult because that big fella's armor glows on the shoulders. So figuring out how to make that obvious without countering out the other shading was kind of a pain in the tuckus.
The figures were kind of difficult to figure out, but mostly because I wanted to have all three of them together and not have it look like a confusing jumble. A posed team picture, if you would.
The background... I wanted to have kind of a glowey magical feel to it. In the game that area has this... feel to it. Old ruins, holy ground. I wanted it to still have that feeling.
Overall I think it's good for the first serious piece I've finished in... how long now? Few years?

Sometimes this takes a lot out of a person. I know after a while of doing only huge serious paintings, I had to start doing little small things. Sure, all mine suck now, but I enjoy them a bit more. And I'll probably work up the oomph to do another big couple of pieces once I get a few more illustrations with watercolor done. I'd hate to think I had only skill in digital.

The snoozy one is Ishnelokee. That's my kitty... I couldn't imagine him doing anything else, what with the way my real cats are.

Lions sleep sixteen hours a day.

Yeah I knew that lions... and honestly most all cats... sleep a lot. They have to revive and regenerate all that spent energy they use hunting food and protecting themselves and their prides.
