Stars Spoof— I kissed a squirrel and I liked it.

My class let out before the last bell so I packed up my stuff and went to wait for Rodelin at one of the picnic tables in front of the school. I threw my backpack on the ground and not-so-gracefully plopped onto the bench.  I then proceeded to dig through my bag for a snack.  The only thing I found was a bag of trail mix.  I ripped it open and began to pick through the stuff I didn’t like for the m&m’s and pretzels.
A tiny clicking sound came from the other end of the table. I looked up to find an albino squirrel starring at me with its luminous red eyes.  A smile spread across my face at how adorable it was.
So, I dug in my bag of trail mix for some peanuts I’d never eat.  When I brought my eyes back up to look for the squirrel, I found my little white friend closer, anticipating a treat.  I held my hand out to him, and he cautiously took the nuts from me.  It was just so cute!!  I swiftly kissed him on the forehead. When I pulled back, he looked at me, and I could have sworn he was smiling.  I grinned happily at the small adorable creature in front of me.
“Mercedes!” an angry familiar voice yelled.
I cringed and turned around to find Rodelin. His jet black curls glistened in the sunlight.  I smiled upon seeing him and greeted, “HI!” energetically.
“What are you doing?!” he asked with irritation.
“Um...” I wasn’t sure why he was so angry so I answered truthfully, “Feeding a squirrel...”
“Clearly.” He folded his arms, bright green eyes narrowing behind his glasses. “But you just...kissed it...”
I giggled. “Yeah, so?”  I dug more nuts out of the trail mix.  The squirrel chattered excitedly as it picked at the food from my hand. “I think I’ll call him Hikari.”  I smiled at Hikari again.  Then, as I reached over to pet him, Rodelin was there, holding my wrist to prevent that.  “Rodelin! What’s the matter!?”
“Don’t go petting strange squirrels! ...Let alone kissing strange squirrels!”
He clambered over the bench to sit next to me, still grasping my wrist.
“Hikari is clearly not a strange squirrel.  He’s my friend.”
“But...it might have rabies or something.”
“But we have magic.  Everything can be cured with magic.”
He sighed. “Fine.”
When he released my hand, it finally occurred to me why he was so upset.  Rodelin saw my face light up in recognition.
“What?” he asked confused.
“You’re jealous.”
He snorted. “Of a squirrel? Please!”
“Aww!  You are jealous!”
“It’s not jealousy!  I just don’t want my girlfriend...mble...grmble...”
“Oh! I get it!”
“Do you?”
I nodded.  “M-hm!”  I put my face right into his so we were eye to eye. “It’s because you don’t want my lips tainted by him, isn’t it?”  I pressed my lips lightly against his.  “There, is that better?”
Rodelin placed a hand on my cheek with the heel of his palm under my chin.  “No...But this might make it better.”  He closed the gap between us again and kissed me passionately.
