France is one of my favorite characters, so it's nice to see that there's a game exploring him in depth! The art & maps were nicely done, and the story really makes you think of how strong the nations really are, after how much they've endured. You all did a good job!

I did this for my KyoTest entry! I made a slight comic, slight meaning its not coloured and france looks like a girl, and i think its good, i hope you like it.

I really enjoyed playing as France, since we dont normally see him as the MC in hetagames, it was very refreshing!

The maps were really well done too, especially the first dream segment with Italy. That map had really nice design with the colored flowers communicating to players where to go, I was just like, screaming at my screen like "WOW!!! WOW THIS iS GREAT DESIGN!!!"

The use of truth/lie choices is also a nice addition, since it gives players options to guide the conversation while also not fully disclosing where the conversation is going, hehee~

I also had a laugh at the library puzzle and patted myself on the back for being able to figure it out on my own. (So it was just the right amount of difficulty for me!) Though I did have a little bit of confusion at that part since I believed there is another spiderweb placed on the map (maybe it was part of the bookshelves? I cant quite remember) and was finding myself wishing that there was only one spider web within that map to check. 

The character designs for the nightmare battlers were REALLY good, esp Italy!!! Just the right amount of unsettling yet kind of cute, haha. 

I think I died... 5 times? during my playthrough... The england fight was fine, but Italy and especially the final boss I really struggled with. The final boss really felt like it was all left up to luck whether or not I survived and his one skill was really really OP and would kill me in 2 shots. (PLZ NERF;; )

But other than that, I had a lot of fun with the game and I loved the ending (once I beat the final boss)!

Hi, there! Just want to say that I really enjoyed this game, and that it's super refreshing to have France as the main protagonist!

Highlights:
- I really liked the visuals. It was very interesting to see the different contrasting colours that appeared across different scenes and stages, and how the dream world was portrayed in a distorted and unusual way compared to the real world. It worked really nicely. Also, on that note, the drawings were also a nice touch. Changing to an image gave a bit of differentiation compared to watching a conversation between unmoving sprites, and I really liked that!
- The story was nice! I won't give away spoilers, but it was a pleasing tale with nice interactions between characters. 

Possible changes:
- I did notice there were a couple of spelling mistakes. I know it's a pain to go through the entire thing, but maybe proofread the scripting, since these are the kinds of things people notice.
- Maybe give France a stronger healing power? I clocked on pretty quickly that the heal was useless and that attacks and hoping you didn't die first were the way to go, but it's another kind of mechanism that people notice!

Ooo, nice game! I really liked that you made France a protagonist, he could use a lot of love within this community, for sure!

Spoiler Review! (It's also just my opinion, just saying ^^):

What I loved: I loved the maps in this game, they were very beautiful and the limited colors actually made the subject stand out that much more! The images used for the battlers were drawn very well, I especially loved the Italy-fear. He looked so cute; reminded me of Jack Skeleton xD I also loved the friendship between Russia and France, I think you portrayed them quite well, and it was different to see Russia as a character other than "Evil" or "Creepy" as many games put it nowadays.

Neutral parts: The battling was a little unbalanced in my opinion; I died so so many times against that last boss and it wasn't until the 8th time I finally beat it. As another deviant said, the attack could take away half my health in one attack, but the heal did very very little to heal, and it wasn't enough before the enemy would attack and strike me down over and over. Maybe a little adjustment could be in works ^^ But then again, the battle itself was not the main focus of the game, so it wasn't too big of a deal.

What I felt needed more work: Characterization. Especially on Italy, in my opinion. I felt he was made very immature, both in the meeting AND in the dream. I don't know if it was intentional or not, especially in the dream for him to act this way, but it felt so out of place for him to act like... Well, a kid, when he's an adult. There was also the fact that when HRE died in the anime/manga BEFORE Italy realized he was 'in love', if you wish to put it that way (I always only saw it as "Best Friends" cause they were really just little babies), so him screaming at France "We were in love" felt a little out of place. I felt he could use a rewrite or two of reviewing from people who are well versed in the character, to help clear things up and improve his characterization a little better.


Overall, I think this game was great, especially for the limited time teams all had for this jam! xD I would recommend it, definitely, to other players too. Keep up the good work!

wow that was a really interesting game and take on the theme! i really enjoyed playing as france; the other cast focused on were neat choices too! the team did a great job putting all the pieces together. i loved the picture puzzle especially - i felt so sad when i broke canada's heart ;n;

a minor nitpick, but the battle system was a bit frustrating ;m; namely the fact that the enemy could take nearly half my health during every turn, but my healing spell would only restore my health a small percentage so it led to some very close calls a few times. i think taking a bit of time and redoing the battles - not to be easier, but to be balanced - might make the victories more worthwhile and the losses less irritating! that's just a minor thing, though, and i could see that it wouldn't be very important to fix right away being that the nature of the game isn't very battle-oriented!

but i loved the ending! i think it made up for everything else. it was so nice to see the changes and acceptance and friendship! i especially loved the characterization of russia as someone sympathetic and willing to lend an ear to his friend! ♥ also props for playing around with relationships we don't see as often, i.e. france & italy and france & russia! ♥ ♥ good job good job!!! your team put out something very wonderful; i'm happy you all participated and shared this gem with everyone!
