I'd say start at the beginning. The 1966 Ultraman series. Otherwise, I don't think you can appreciate the other Ultraman shows. (Is that what you meant?)

HOORAY SOMEONE ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGED 80!!!! He is almost always suspiciously absent when the Ultra brothers get together same goes for Leo but he at least gets a little more love which is sad since I really like 80.

I think it's a big part how he looks and a little bit the fact that his series was kind of a failure and ended the original showa era of Ultraman
