Description A long-time project I've had: a topographic map of MLP:FiM's setting: Equestria and its surroundings.
Now with new map projection (note the longitudes and latitudes.)

Much of it comes from the official map(s) of Equestria by Hasbro, with additional data from the Cutie Map. Some data happens to be contradictory, and the Cutie Map was used as the final say. Some additional data was made to fill in what I considered blanks. The official maps do something weird with the top of the map as well, into what would be the North pole: the map itself seems to curve into the horizon, making the northernmost part of the continent impossible to detail. So I corrected this, and moved what Hasbro calls "The Frozen North" around a bit. The Frozen North is still there, but only as an after-thought, so that it does not distract from the real purpose of mapping Equestria topographically. The continent upon which Equestria rests looks a bit less like North America now.

The map now includes the lower borders of the Frozen North (with added personal details the Zebra lands to the West (with added personal details, Idube is Zulu for 'zebra' the Dragon lands to the Southeast; and that other continent East of Equestria (with Griffinstone.) Most oceans now have names as well. The map also includes longitudes and latitudes as accurately as possible.

This map will remain a work in project as long as additional data comes in.
This version of the map excludes Fallout: Equestria data.

EDIT: Because there was too many changes to my old maps due to new data, I decided to start a new one with the Cutie Map and data.
EDIT: This map cuts the Frozen North off, above the mountain range.

I also generally don’t write Cloudsdale down as it moves around.

Are you going to include the maps from the comics? I generally include it with the Forest of Leota as part of the Arimaspi/Forbidden Jungle, and the various other forests as well, leading to the Froud Valley as it intersects Bone Dry Desert.

Oh, that could be fun. Probably a lot of different small plates in or near Equestria, what with all those mountains...

I’m imagining Equestria being a series of convergent plate boundaries as it’s being compressed, like Tibet or China after Pangaea broke apart, as various landmasses accreted to them and voila, mountains. I also imagine the Griffin and Dragon lands having recently broke apart from each other, originally connected to North Equestria, while the Mysterios South also rifted then and rotated, slamming into Southern Equestria, creating the Macintosh Hills, before slamming into a final collision sandwiching North Equestria between the Frozen North and Mysterious South.

Coming up with the rightful projection for longitudes and latitudes was not easy...

I can imagine. But you did a great job on it.
