Hehe, I think you guys can tell I had lots of fund arranging the surroundings of this picture. I really overdid it with all the "decoractions", aye?
But still, I think this is the first ever piece of work I am 95% satisfied with.
I switched back and forth from GIMP to SAI since I can't find some tools in SAI yet (maybe it doesn't have them anyway). But it was mainly created in SAI when it comes to the lineart, colouring and shading.
Sorry that my shading still looks damn awful. (Actually it looks like he has a Pangare body here...I failed so hard there. XD) I gotta practice that thoroughly...

Anyway! Here is a little story as a bonus to the Rites score as well as the other info~. <3

As the tests began, Sergeant was lead to a fenced off lake. Surrounded by a long stretched slope fading into a late autumn forest.
The sun stood near the mountain tops at the horizon as Sergeant and his handler Padfoot approached the massive hole drilled into the thick ice crust. "Now, Sergeant. Make sure you remember your training and those tips I gave you.", the young woman nuzzled her huge companion in hope he would understand her words.
The bell rang shortly after Padfoot stepped off the ice and her Tokota recognized the signal immediately. He sprung forth, straight into the ice cold water and remained underneath the ice long enough to make his handler worry about his well being. But that was by no means justified. Moments later, Sergeant surfaced, climbed out of the hole with an elegant leap and placed the first fish, a pretty Rainbow Trout, in the basket as required. He returned into the water many times afterwards, collecting common and even uncommon fishes in the basket without any troubles. But that was soon to change.
As the sun was slowly approaching the bottom of the horizon, the time ran low as well. Sergeant was getting more tired and less enthusiastic about hurrying his task. With the last minutes remaining, he jumped into the hole one last time and stayed under water for some time again, making his handler worry yet again. As he leaped out of the water, a red shine was visible near his mouth and it was to be identified as a rare Sockeye Salmon. With awe the Tokota's handler watched as Sergeant climbed out and carried the panicing and wiggling fish to the nearby basket already brimming with prey. But, there were troubles, unavoidable. Sockeye Salmons are rare prey for a good reason. They fight back. Due to exhaustion, Sergeant's grib was loose and the panicing fish was able to get free just a few meters away from the hole in the thick ice. Sergeant had no intention of letting it escape though. He summoned his last strength and surged towards the flipping and jumping fish, while the previously gathered crows applauded his work with loud noises.
The bell rang, almost swallowed by the cawing and screeching of the birds. The job was done as told and the trial awaited judgement.
