Heres my progress. Well, actually there is very little progress, just a new render.
Things added since last time:
- Wheels. I created some custom deepdish wheels like the origional car has, and they turned out horrible. Really horrible. Just then I saw ~Snipehunter4 's car parked outside, so I went out and stole his wheels. These are his, 'falken tourque 5'. Look better than the origional 5 spokers anyway IMO.
- Paint. Still alittle bit of tweaking to do with this, especially on the black. The orange is not quite intense enough to match the origional. Also, the wheels need to be chrome.
- Rear kit. You cant see it, but the ass is finished.
So yea, I can only afford to spend an hour or two on this a day, so it should be done in a few days.
I miss clay renders. They look so much better.

I love the custom headlights (or maybe they ain't custom, but I still love 'em!)
Those colors make me think about F&F Tokyo Drift (Which I haven't seen yet, but appears to be a steaming pile of crap) because I remind seeing a car with that color scheme in the teaser. But hey, those are nice colors
You know what? If it was anything else but a rotary engine powered car, I would have said shame on you for polluting the atmopshere (even virtually ^__^) But I have much respect for those who dared to make motors a different way than usual. Cheers! (stole your expression, i'm such a dork!)

I'm not usually a fan of rotaty engines either, but you have to admit that the rx7 has a beautiful design. I heard somewhere that the inspiration from the car designs was 'water flowing over a rock'. Pretty much sums it up too.
I enjoyed the movie, but not because of the acting, story, anything like that, I just liked seeing cars like this on the big screen.

Looking real good, I agree.. Paint needs a bit more tweeking. But the modelling is tops.

Cheers man. I think once I get it into a scene and use different lighting the paint will fix itself, if not I'll play with the settings alittle more. I'm using the Danel shader.

I'll do one render with no scene, and another render with it composited into a photo. (Doing that saves you having to model a realistic scene). No idea what photo yet though..

Point to point, (p2p) Basically I create points and bridge/join them to create polygons.
