Here comes some serious competition. Study of Ancient Runes professor Bathsheda Babbling is in truth non-existent in the books. Even her name is never mentioned in the story but only appeared on a list of the Hogwarts professors which J.K.R released on her website… Well, now that I come to think of it, she might be the winner of this whole ‘neglected’ Hogwarts staff series. I mean… if it wasn’t for Hermione who took every possible course at Hogwarts, we wouldn’t even know Babbling’s class existed!Related content

Thank you! Bathsheda Babbling came as a surprise to me too. When I was reading the books, those few times Hermione mentioned Study of Ancient Runes I thought of a male professor teaching this subject instead... I guess Babbling's the most elusive and mysterious of the Hogwarts staff!
