This is my entry for 's contest!

The story behind this: Okay, so this is Sora and Kairi dressed as Ash and Misty from Pokemon! Now, why on earth would I draw these two as those two? Well, here's a link that ties in the relationship between these four characters: [link]
In case you didn't feel like clicking it, it's the first time the player is in Destiny Islands, with that whole "Sora you lazy bum!" cut scene. Kairi even punches him in the head. Misty, in the anime, was constantly insulting Ash and punching him occasionally, even though they were best friends. SoKai are also BFFs. Well what do you know! There's a connection! Misty and Kairi are also redheads, though Kairi isn't as fiery as Misty. But still, there are many similarities between these characters' relationships. Sora and Kairi are best friends first, just like Ash and Misty. Kairi and Misty also pick on their respective partners often. (Kairi nitpicks at Sora frequently in the first game and it happens in the second as well.) Ash and Sora also are blissfully ignorant and ignore their partners' qualms. I honestly think Ash and Misty are the best characters to compare Sora and Kairi to. Kairi = Ocean, Misty is a Water Pokemon trainer. Ash can be an airhead, as can Sora, AND Sora's name means air! So I think I've made my point.

Anyway, do enjoy this! It's rare that I ever draw a background! And I think this one is pretty darn good.

Ya know, for :icon1stPoke-Trio:'s contest that I won 3rd place in, I almost drew Ash, Brock and Misty as Sora, Riku and Kairi, but went for Zelda characters instead. That just shows the similarities between these two couples!

Materials: Sakura ink pens, mechanical pencil, prisma color pencils, prisma color markers

Sora looks almost exactly like Ash... O_o And look at Kairi's baby pony tail! (This is her first game haircut, btw)
