This had been done for a loooooong time now, but I guess I never submitted it?WAH! s-sorry! I need to pay attention more to finished art at the bottom of my art folders.
Originally a random WW Link doodle I made during a live stream event (seeeeee: [link] ), which I started to color. During the coloring though, he was given a Link to the Past coloration(His original sprite) rather than the Wind Waker version.
I like Pink haired Link

I think his eyes are all wrong, but I'm to lazy to fix

The pink hair was just a graphical thing. He was just as blond in that game as in later ones.
But that said it's a nice picture. Incorporated the Master Sword scabbard nicely.

I know he was blond in official art, but can't deny game officially had pink haired sprite! I loved it. So much uniqueness compared to the sea of blond we get now days.
Sometimes I really just draw what I want and sometimes it doesn't make for accurate fanart, but if I'm happy with it, I don't care~

Point was the pink-haired sprite was a mistake. He was intended to be blond, but graphics limitations forced it to be pink. This has nothing to do with your picture, just saying that incarnation of Link did not have a unique hair colour. He was just as much part of the 'sea of blond' as the rest.

error or not, Pink hair happened in game, only Link to have pink hair in game which is the point I am trying to say here about being original. I KNOW official art is blond, but that's not what I am considering when talking about this. This is kind of like how in game of Link's Awakening Marin had more reddish hair because of system limitations despite her official art with light blond, yet many seem to prefer her with red hair.Β
Lots of things in video game pasts were made 'by mistake' but turned out to be for the better or preferred by fans you know. Everyone has their different opinions and likes.

Like it, though I allways wondered why Link's hair in sprite form is pink, but the official artwork is blond. Color palette limitations?

I know the landscape is similar in A Link Between Worlds, but doesn't it actually have a different Link? I thought the ALttP Link died at the end of Link's Awakening or something.

Naw, Link's awakening Link was fine at the end (It was Marin who was assumed dead and/or seagull) (KYAAAA I LOVE THAT GAAAME)
I know it's a different Link, but I still thought maybe it would have been nice to have an option to give him the Pink hair

I kind of think it has to do with the system limitations, in which a brown brim and yellow skin on the sprite would have looked weird with either blond or brown hair. they picked an opposite color to really bring out his colors, making everything stand out without blurring together, you know?
Whatever the reason, I don't care~ I love him with Pink hair.

I was really young back in the 90s, like I only turned 6 near the end of 1999, but I do still remember a few things about it. What really astonished me though, was how 90s-like the year 2000 felt. The 2000s didn't really come into full swing until mid 2001, around the time of the September 11th attacks. 
But take a look at this screenshot from Parallel Worlds. They actually pulled off Link's blonde hair well here, albeit at the expense of the yellow brim his hat has in the ALttP official art: 199.101.98.242/media/shots/343β¦

No problem. To be more concise, it will be on Bandcamp as a 'name-a-price' album for people who wish to donate, but indefinitely available for anyone to download for free, and by no means will anyone ever be required to pay for it. But technically it will be open to donations. Is that okay?
