Maybe it's just the choice of pencils in the shot. Lots of grey and dark ones which possibly stops the colour ones from really standing out.
However, once again, it's a good creative photo =]

It would be the other way round, don't you think? Dark and gray would make them stand out more. (Look up Contrast in the dictionary =])

Yes, I know what contrast means. I'm just saying too much grey is taking away from the colour.
