Okay...I don't know where to begin. First off -- did you know how much I love the song "Fireflies" or was it just a huge coincidence that you based this picture off it? I absolutely love that song, and Owl City actually. I sing it about everyday for the hell of it. And we play it at work and I get all "SQUEEE!" I actually have a playlist that's full of songs that remind me of Clack, and "Fireflies" is on it. >W<
And second, I had an idea for a project that I never started that was individual portraits of Zack and Cloud in total darkness, but their faces were lit by fireflies. I planned on it being a digital, semi-realism painting, but I never tried. IT'S LIKE YOU'RE IN MY MIND, RAPING MY THOUGHTS.

I can just picture Zack lying on a hill just enjoying an evening with Cloud beside him....they drift off holding hands in the summer breeze...and then suddenly Cloud wakes up to Zack laughing, and he looks beside him and sees fireflies all around.

I didn't know you like the song! I love it! I thought of the idea when I was sitting on the toilet listening to music and I skipped pass that one, so I sat there, pondering if I should base your picture on this song. I few ideas ran pass my head (Like where Zack is a kid and has a firefly on his finger, and is grinning, but it didn't seem ... Too exciting, then there was this other idea where both Zack and Cloud were dancing in a field at night where heaps of fireflies were surrounding them with an mystic magical aura and a aurora borealis in the sky but that one was a bit too challenging for my level of skill.) but this one seemed to be just right!
You're lucky to have this song playing at your work, I just have the continuous sound track of babies and little kids crying or screaming.
I find SAI much easier to use than photoshop! I think I'm gonna continue using for now, and use photoshop of little things.

SAI is easy because it doesn't have a million damn options and filters and shit like that. It's pretty damn straightforward. But if you need to do editing or anything, you have to take it to Photoshop. That's why a lot of deviations you see the artists say that they use both. SAI is superior with lines though, hands down!

I already mastered it o.o! I only got it like ... Less than two weeks ago.
I read a SAI colouring tutorial and a just tweaked it a little bit so the fireflies where the light source and not the moon ... Because there is no moon in the picture, only stars that remind me of confetti.
