Description just to let you know I'm still alive having been taking an antibiotic for a chronic sinus and ear infection, and working like too - and between it all - it hasn't left much time for anything else much other than sleeping Speaking of which I'm taking my poor tramatized body to bed! Missing all of you!

No, they've died out a looong time ago...so sorry, can't recall what they smell like

But very pretty reminder though

I do love it when the lilacs are in bloom! I've always liked the purple ones best but white ones are nice too. The smell of lilacs always brings back memories of the town where I grew up and the creek (crick) where I used to go to fish. Mostly, I wasted time picking lilacs for mom, grandmas (both of them) and just for the sheer joy of picking and smelling lilacs

I saw in one of the garden centers this year that they now have a hybrid of lilac that blooms twice a year instead of once, but you probably already knew that

Anyway, tis a lovely pic and thanks for the memories

[link] wish we had lilac so I could try this maybe it'll keep the smell around longer! One more thing for you to do but it does look pretty simple

Hope you're feeling better soon - there's been a rash of 'summer' colds around here too as our temps fluctuate so drastically...

Thanks for the kudos Mary-Anne! and of course, I always appreciate the s you leave for me!
maybe we could send back a bit of your warm just now? We're in a heat advisory all week - and stepping outside feels like stepping into an overheated sauna! Sooooooo we're once again trapped inside - only difference between this and winter time, is that the stewpid air conditioner is on! I think I've got cabin fever, on top of everything else - I think I need a nice, fun, relaxing vacation somewhere, with the bills paid Fat chance of that right now! Oh well back to work! No rest for the wicked!

Thank you kind sir! Yes, Tony it stinks to be sick anytime - I'm afraid I'm not a very good patient - nor patient with being sick - so I'd certainly rather avoid it
How's things up your way? didn't you tell me you were having a surgery? *scratches head trying to remember exactly* damn! it's a bitch when you're old and been taking meds... it messes with the few intact brain cells that you have left!

Yes but they have decided to try another approach. Which seems to be placing devices of torture in my shoes instead, in an attempt to remold my feet. The doctor thinks it should work we'll see.

All of mine dried up while I was gone to the hospital with the Bean.
Yours are quite beautiful, Alice.

How's the Bean doing anyway? Has she started comparing appendectomy scars with strangers, yet? (kids are sooooooooo fun!)
Thanks Jessie! and thanks for the , too!

She is doing much better, thanks for asking Alice. And she does that all the time.
Her incision was taking a long time, still is, to heal up...and when we left the hospital it was open, due to the inordinate amount of infection. Well it looked like the most disgusting snot and i wouldn't let her know it was gross, but her father would turn green when she would show him...lol...
And she was such a good girl, she would run up to him and flash it to him randomly. Good times...

Welcome for the faves, Alice. Have a great week!!

I knew it! I love kids!
I just hope her incision is not as long as mine - when my appendics ruptured - the surgery was performed at an out in the sticks hospital - by a heart surgeon - who hadn't a clue what he was doing or what he was looking for It was sheer luck or meanness that I didn't die!

Buuuuuut if you want to have some fun with the Bean and do something that will actually cause her scar tissue to be less prominent and heal more quickly - go to an old fashioned type drug store and get her a bar of Hershey's 100% pure cocoa butter [link] not only does it smell good - but, you won't have to pester her to get her to rub it into her scar. The only thing you'll have to be careful about it that is probably isn't such a good idea to just it - due to it's fat content

...you were destined to touch many lives with your kind heart, great sense of humor and talented hands (ohhh...I promise not to get naughty with that comment, lol). That is why!

Her incision is not little, but it is what it is. They had to reopen her in surgery due to the inordinate amount of infection and the doc left it open. As in...no steri-strips, no sutures, nutin. So... It is a badge of honor. Scars almost always are. it means you are a survivor.

I've been doing the vitamin e oil, but have been looking for that stuff. She is very paranoid about anything and anyone getting close to her incision.

Life is good. I caught three Stones concerts in May--a bit fanatical I know--and am now preparing for a summer chock full of visitors. I've got so many next week that I'll be sleeping in the garage for four nights. That should be interesting.

How are you? Coming out of sinus blues, I hope.

LadyAliceofOz In reply to Pinedrop [2013-06-23 05:12:34 +0000 UTC]

Not sure about the Stones but I've always wanted to hear this in concert [link] so I can certainly understand What are your favorite songs by the Stones? I can't think of any right now
but, I'd hate to think of the you dropped going to 3 concerts

Thanks for asking Tris I've been battling a little blues - but, mostly because it's so damn hot outside that we're trapped inside, again - just like winter - just this time the stewpid air conditioner is running, instead ...and I'm not sure that the antibiotic actually knocked out the ear infection this time... but, I'm sure hoping at least I haven't had any further episodes of vertigo, since taking the antibiotic... and I NEVER want to have another one of those SCARY FOR SURE!

I wish I had time for some visitors That sounds really nice!

Pinedrop In reply to LadyAliceofOz [2013-06-23 22:33:33 +0000 UTC]

"Layla" is an awesome tune and I hope you do get to hear it live. I've got lots of favorite Stones' songs, but I'll just give you a couple: "Paint It Black" and "Gimme Shelter". And yes, my wallet took a hit though I only paid for one of the concerts. Totally worth it though!

Vertigo does not sound like fun. Nor does being trapped indoors. I think anyone would have a hard time avoiding the blues given all that. If you were here, I'd make you a mug of peppermint tea and let you pour out your woes. Then I'd regale you with my own saga that began exactly one year ago. And before you know it, we'd be laughing about all of it.

Thanks for the kudos on the image Gigi and I really appreciate the , too!
Be sure you keep an eye on high ground somewhere! It's a scary year, for sure - I think Mother Nature is definitely menopausal!
