Description
This was my first attempt with a spiral border.They looked hard enough to do a straight line, but naturally I had to break my own rule of "Learn the rules first before you smash them" in the name of inspiration.

The overall design is well considered. The cropping of the star points is a little off putting, but the dots on the outside allude to a continuation of the points. The only thing that I truly wish is that the triquetras on the outside weren't warped like they are. The color works well creating an antiqued look, but the shading, I feel, could be a little more considered in that some areas of the star appear to be shading simply to create a distinction between the star and the inner circle. If the shading was a bit more thoughtful it wouldn't need specific distinction. I think this is a good design though. Well done!

Admittedly, it's an older piece and I've learned more since I did this one.
I've never considered this one of my better pieces though, as it always bugged me, but I could never figure out what it was I didn't like about it.....very fair critique though.
