Description Húrin wedded Morwen, the daughter of Baragund son of Bregolas of the House of Bëor; and she was thus of close kin to Beren One-hand. Morwen was dark-haired and tall, and for the light of her glance and the beauty of her face men called her Eledhwen, the Elven-fair; but she was somewhat stern of mood and proud. The sorrows of the House of Bëor saddened her heart; for she came as an exile to Dor-lómin from Dorthonion after the ruin of the Bragollach.

You did a really nice job of playing with the colors from the original photo of the woman. This looks amazing.

Thank you! I had great fun matching up the colours to the background - this wasn't quite the way I usually go about my manips, but a nice experience and glad to see it seems to be paying off.

A perfect Morwen! Too often she is depicted as an old withering woman, more towards the end of her life's physical looks than what she would have actually looked like. This is really how I have pictured her.

Thank you - I don't quite get that portrayal either. Of course there is her very memorable last meeting with Húrin, which I'm sure inspired a lot of portrayals, but she was rather young at the beginning of the story, only 20 when Túrin was born, in her late 20s with Nienor. There's validity to both portrayals. I'm glad you like mine, though.

Morwen's most important characteristic, I think. She is described as very imposing, so this seemed the way to go.

Oh, yes, that's exactly how I imagine her!

Thank you. I just saw the model and knew exactly who she would be - it's so awesome to find a face and they look like they climbed out of your mental image of the book you're reading. ^^

Merci! Je pense que le mannequin est très belle. Je n'ai pas beaucoup changé. (And I'm sorry if that didn't make sense, I only just started learning French recently. )

I'll learn to express myself better at some point.
(Because English orthography is pretty misleading, especially when you have a different native language. Don't worry about it.)

I have the same problem, my English is poor, and some words are "bad friends", not the same meaning in English or in French... so I'm lost sometimes.

Yes, those false friends can be extremely nasty, and there are so many of them. I'm not a native speaker of English either and sure have made my share of mistakes even with eight semesters of linguistics under my hat. XD It's nothing to be terribly ashamed of, and for what it's worth, your English looks fine enough to me?

Thanks ! There is so many people on DeviantART who can write fluently in English...
And some of them can also write in French, Italian, Russian, etc. Awesome.

Hmmm, the internet is quite a useful tool for language learning. And given that this is an international site, I'm not terribly surprised to find so many other languages active here.

Yes, sure, but it's the first time I see people coming from so many countries on one site. Amazing.
