what a lovely portrait! beautiful contrasts and pose though personally I'd have cropped it to be a vertical shot (but I tend to see the world up and down more than side to side ) I think the bright area of the copper and the log distract from the center focus of the cat but I understand the desire to leave enough of it so observers could identify the bucket...still a wonderful photo!!!

I see what you mean, I could remove it a bit, the way it is now I haven´t removed anything from the photo, simply encreased the contrast somewhat. But I see your point, and I really didn´t think about it before you mentioned it.

I wanted to write a critique but the box wouldn't load, dunno why, so I decided to just add a comment

The photo is very clear and the details are nicely captured with no unnecessary blur. I particularly like strong contrast between the fur and background and the cat seems to be emerging from darkness. The white fur is like a ray of light that nicely contrasts with reflection in animal’s eyes. It’s kinda subjective feeling but I think it’d be better if the item to the left was empty, cause it slightly diverts attention from the cat. Apart from that little detail, the photo as a whole is really good, and since I also have a soft spot for cats of any sort, it lands in my favs.

Thank you very much for critiquing And I agree with your observation about the item to the left. But to be honest I didn´t think about it as i took the picture as it was sort of a snapshot. But it all a part of training my "photograpers eye", which is really under development at the moment hehe . Trying to advance hehe...
