full veiw pleaseyay!! i'm finished this took forever many cause i don't have much freetime.
i actually very happy with how she turned out original i was going to go with a cool color scheme but as i was working i didn't like the colors much so i changed the to fall colors which are my fav i just really want to do something different but i guess i try again with the cool colors on the nex one

This piece is a breathaking mix of traditional japanese art style with modern painting. The design has just enough shading to give the viewer a sense of life in the character while maintaining a suggestion that pieces of textured art have been montaged to create the final image.
The colours are exquisite and the artist has done a wonderful job of keeping the design plain with detail only where it's required.
The relationship between girl and dragon is very clearly illustrated despite the difficulty of animating both faces while fitting the style.
Overall a stunning piece of work with wonderful use of colour and a display of mastery over technique and style.

Before I could start to even write a single word I had to look closely at the picture for quite some time 'cause I didn't want to miss even the smallest detail. And it's always a good thing when the viewer wants to look at an image for more than just a few seconds.
The colours are a perfect choice for this picture 'cause they're warm and down to earth. Cold colours would make her look more distant and for me it wouldn't fit with her pose and the dragon 'cause her facial expression is full of love and cold colours would ruin it. And to be honest, I personally like autumn colours the most.
The pattern on her kimono are great, too. It gives the kimono a traditional but not frumpy appearance, it looks noble and very precious. It fits well with her pale skin and makes it look like porcelain. The fan is a nice detail as well as the flowers and the little golden headdress. It's not too detailed so it stands more in the background, which is good 'cause too many elaborated details would florid the picture. That brings me to the little dragon. For me it's the best part in the picture 'cause it's so well drawn that it almost looks like a figure made of gold. It's a nice idea that it is part of a tattoo which comes to life. And you can imagine the deep bond between those two.
The simple background with the characters and the red sun (that's my interpretation) is nice and fits well with the detailed woman and the dragon. As I've said before too many details would florid the picture. This way you can focus on the main part without having the feeling to miss anything in the picture.
I only have some small points of criticism.
Her hair is one of them. For me it looks like you had no delight to work it out as you did with all the other things. They look like you've painted them fast and that's why they lack of structure. E.g. the strands of hair could be drawn much better.
The eyes of the woman are really beautiful and I like the golden brown of the iris but I have the feeling she's not looking at the dragon, it's more like she doesn't focus anything. I think her right eye (from my point of view) must be more focused on the dragon, the pupil must be a bit lower.
Overall you've created a really awesome piece of work and I love all the details and the colours in it. Just put some more effort into drawing her hair and maybe take a second look to her eyes and I'm sure your work will be perfect. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="
