a reallistic asian face with some asian and fantasy elements.and dragonflies.
so there you have it.
new technique used this time i.e. doing everything in B&W and then putting colour over it. it's strange but i might use it more often since it somehow makes things easier.
uuuhh....yeah don't mind the colours - i know they suck. if i'm brave enough i'll attemt a different colourscheme.

I like it. The long format works. Shes like a beautiful alien giesha youd see in a sci fi nightclub scene. Blade runner maybe? The colors are nice.
The black and white with color over top is how I used to paint with traditional oils. Instead of black I used burnt umber though. Sometimes Id do the under painting in ocher for a warmer look.
Is it ok if I make a sugestion?...permission to kick my ass for doing it anyway.heehee
The nape of the neck appears to go into her head sharply before the ear. Youd see a bit of the slope of skull that goes up behind the ear. Sorta like this [link]

yeah you're right.
i still suck at realism - until fairly recently i was too scared to even consider doing a reallistic painting....
it's all a learning curve! ^__^
i hardly ever tend to come back to my paintings...i either repaint them altogether or move on to a different subject - but i will keep your comment in mind for the next time i paint somebodys neck at a similar angle! ^__^ so your feedback is appreciated any time.

Aw well thats the hardest to master realistic anatomy. I never did get my paintings to look real without exact referance in front of me. I thought it was beautiful even with that small flaw
Yup you will always be playing the learning curve. Art's like that. Moving ahead is good too cause you can go back and see how you grew. It can be tempting to endlessly fix one peice and not have much to show for your time.
