Description Originally, this episode was entitled "Betrayal" but that was way too obvious. I mean, we all knew it was going to happen.  Well, maybe there was one person who maybe thought there was some hope for this First Dragonborn... but nope!

Now we just have to see how this all turns out!

Nope, I had no doubts that Miraak was a backstabbing snake. Let's hope Jenna comes back to give him the business, so that he can die like one, too. His hubris will be his downfall, thinking that a single Shout would take her out of the picture, even after seeing her fight.

Hindsight is 20/20. And she doesn't know Jenna very well if she doesn't think Jenna will work just as hard to make things right!

Well, considering Miraak is out of Apocrypha and back in the 'real' world, he should be a bit easier to kill. Considering he's a squishy mortal like the rest of us~ I'd say bringing down a soul-devouring demigod on his own turf would make stabbing an old dragon-killer a few dozen times look like a walk in the park.

Also, one thing I never think to say- I love how you don't forget to give your characters consequences for their actions, especially in such severe cases as going 'off the rails' like this. Makes the modified story that much more interesting~

We shall see how this throw-down goes down.

Awww! Thank you! It means a lot that you've noticed that. I can't make it easy.

I knew it ....
Thats why Rogan took Mora instead, becoz at last a Daedra keeps its promise.
Though now my other dragonborn Amyka may want to slap his face, no one touch to kitty Jenna. No one

LadyMetaRose In reply to TeaDarkA [2016-11-20 04:13:59 +0000 UTC]

Yep!

Well, Miraak never really promised anything. He just assured Jenna he wasn't behind Mora's acquisition of the Skaal knowledge.

Aww! That's cute!

Aha! Vindicated! I'll admit I was getting worried that Miraak was going to turn out to be a misunderstood hero all along and defy all our expectations, but thankfully this story's approach was more "Farmer and the Viper" than Care Bears.

At least some good did come of this, and now the Skaal elder won't have to die or relinquish his knowledge to Mora. Hopefully Jenna will be able to dust herself off and learn from this experience... though I'd love to see Emilia Juris's reaction, as well as Jenna's reaction to where Emilia's advice landed her.

Heh. Vipers, dragons, dovahkiin, they're all cunning snake-y things. ... And considering how popular LITERAL backstabbing is in this game's fandom XD

I actually had you worried?  Well, good. I was actually hoping that people might think Miraak has turned over a new leaf. But old minds are harder to make flexible (not imposible, but 5000 years? Might be a little hard). Besides, Jenna can't always be allowed to win by killing people with kindness.  Glad I didn't disappoint!

Not that I like spoiling, but I think you will get your wish.

:: Miraak, Jenna is a Dragonborn, AND you've fought beside her. You should know better than to think she's not tough enough to survive a fall.

And while Jenna has made mistakes in the past (who hasn't?) she learns from them. That brain is going to help her defeat Miraak more than any knowledge from Apocrypha.

LadyMetaRose In reply to the-exiled-muse [2016-11-19 13:29:20 +0000 UTC]

Miraak is yet a bit too proud to recognize his folly.

She has the smarts and good friends who are willing to help. Something Miraak doesn't have.

the-exiled-muse In reply to LadyMetaRose [2016-11-19 22:42:07 +0000 UTC]

I suspect Miraak may never have had friends, or has gone without for so long that he's forgotten what they can do for a person.

I imagine that as well.

Arcanaknight-Jaguar [2016-11-19 08:52:57 +0000 UTC]

Worst thing about this situation is Jenna knew someone like Miraak couldn't be trusted and wouldn't listen. Not trusting a Daedric Prince is wise, but not trusting someone who makes pact's with a Daedra is wiser.

LadyMetaRose In reply to Arcanaknight-Jaguar [2016-11-19 13:31:31 +0000 UTC]

Aye, but Jenna sometimes is malleable when it comes to giving someone the opportunity to turn over a new leaf. She has herself in some ways, and one of her good friends, Paarthurnax, himself have overcome his "evil" nature. But let's face it, she was a bit optimistic in thinking Miraak would change.
