Description The other day I was out with the camera again in search for things to shoot when I found this butterfly goin insane from flower to flower. The sun was set perfectly and everything was suited up as a "smΓΆrgΓ₯sbord" . I gently sat down, not to scare it, and then the fingerdance begun hehe, took aprox 20-30 shots here. Didn't need more because the whole set-up was pretty safe and I had good focus on the butterfly due to him/her beeing still just drinkin on .

They're really not that "aww a butterfly, so beautiful"-nice, at the close-ups they look rather discusting hehe, a little alien freakyisch with the straw-suck-pipe-nose-mouth hahah.
Tried to get strong and vivid colours in the best harmony possible. Went on crawling on the ground for some good angles.

Went on with a little more challenging boarder here, gotta try different styles. Thanks to *mine for ideas.

Make sure you FULLVIEW it for the juicy details!

C&C Appretiated as always! Enjoy.

I'm glad you find it neat .

I used a Canon 300D for that shot with regular 18-55mm lens.

so gorgeous. love close ups of insects, they're just so different from what you expect. What lense were you using there cause i'm having a bit of trouble getting close ups.

Since I'm all new to this camera thing I'm not really sure on what I have.

I read on the lens and it says "18 - 55mm" . When I do my closeups I use maximun zoom and then set focus after taht.

Great shot, the big and healthy frame does help a lot, but I think you should have put the title in the middle, not to the side, either above or below the photograph. But otherwise its all good. ^^

I'm tryin to work AWAY from the ordinaery and normal ways of things . The "above" and "under" is used to the limit . Sure I agree that it can be nice in many ways I just thought that the on-the-side was suited for this here . I got another on-the-side photo to post tomorrow ^^.
I'm really glad you liked it still hehe.

It turned out really great. Now you need to get a makro-lens, so you don't have to tweak so much and just snap away

Excuse me?

If you mean this in a serious way I'm almost offended by it. The point of actually have a description is to tell the story about the photo. Sure photos speak for themselves but when added a story it gets so much better.
Did you ever read the description?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zigzag101089 In reply to ladyrapid [2006-08-22 19:50:12 +0000 UTC]

chill, i was joking. and yes, i read the description. i meant TMI to your last comment, not to the description itself.
just me being dumb.

ladyrapid In reply to Zigzag101089 [2006-08-23 23:36:44 +0000 UTC]

Lol, no it's not, it's as easy as in any writing form.
It's just the timing to start with. It's very hard to start with an ironic comment to someone that you don't know of perhaps.
Heres an example of a good sarcastic comment. Lets say that I go to for example `alyn 's site and write:

Duude, lucky me you suck so much on this celestial art thingy.... !!!!!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Zigzag101089 In reply to ladyrapid [2006-08-24 02:42:07 +0000 UTC]

and this is why i am not a writer. lol. i can't write things like that and not have them sound serious. meh, maybe i'll learn to write like that someday.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyrapid In reply to Zigzag101089 [2006-08-24 10:17:45 +0000 UTC]

hehe it's not hard, i'ts just the timing and way of expression that makes the irony good

Thanks. I only wish I had a macro lens to work with, then I'd be able to take seriously neat macros , I'll have to wait until I have the money to buy my own camera and lens

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lifethroughalens In reply to ladyrapid [2006-08-21 02:25:08 +0000 UTC]

Yea, I already have a macro lens from a previous camera, but I am waiting to get a Canon Rebel so I can use it on a digital. The lens fits a Rebel, I have already checked, but I just need to save up. It is ridiculous how much the cameras can cost...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyrapid In reply to lifethroughalens [2006-08-21 13:48:35 +0000 UTC]

Yea, it's pretty insane prices.
I'm thinkin of buying some used parts tho, I'll still be good enough for me as a starters camera. I'll see what happends when I get the money for it :

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lifethroughalens In reply to ladyrapid [2006-08-21 17:43:10 +0000 UTC]

That's actually a really good idea. How much do you think a used Canon would sell for?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyrapid In reply to lifethroughalens [2006-08-22 01:26:36 +0000 UTC]

Depends on what version you want to get your hands on, I'd say that a 350 might go for around $700 or so. It's a smaller camera than the Canon 300 and D10, but the inside is better , faster response with the system .

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lifethroughalens In reply to ladyrapid [2006-08-22 02:50:59 +0000 UTC]

Yea. What I really want is a camera, preferably a Canon, that has an adjustable shutter time and a macro setting and/or macro lens. I like experimenting with exposure times and macro work. Any idea on what camera would be able to accomplish both of those for me?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ladyrapid In reply to lifethroughalens [2006-08-22 12:49:45 +0000 UTC]

As I'v mentioned before, I'm just a rookie still on this. I know "some" photographing thingys now but I must be honst and say that I know WAY less about the actual cameras sorry. Turn to more pro people for that help hehe. Check the forums here, we'v got all things, just get in there and ask along
