Just common butterfly on flower, but some reason I like this photo. The composition (after cropping) seems to work well and colors and bokeh are really peaceful.And for the record: I really want the Nikon 105mm VR macro

I really like how the butterfly mixes with the background.

Thanks. I had to follow it quite a bit and eventually I got almost to one meter (that's the closest distance that lens focuses). But like I said, I had to crop a bit (fortunately with 10mpix you can usually crop something away).

Thanks. The depth of field comes from long enough high aperture lens (in this case sigma 50-150 f2.8).

It is a nice composition indeed. The colors of the butterfly are interesting in that they seem to reflect the surroundings: yellow of the flower in front and green in back, like the background foliage. Maybe that's just the lighting, but it's pretty cool.

If wikipedia is right with the scientific names, it should be brimstone butterfly.
