Description

Neccorakai are a hybridized species of gargoyle, but do not turn to stone in the sun as traditional gargoyles. However, if they become badly wounded, they must hurry to somewhere safe and secluded, for a rather sticky substance will ooze out from their skin and will harden to a stone-like state, putting them into a hibernation until the wound heals.
The stone itself is porous enough to let in just enough air for them to survive in this near-death state. If the stone were to be cracked open before the wound is healed, it usually results in their body going into shock and this will more than likely be the end of that individual.
Neccorakai are often amputated by slave-wranglers to make them both easier to capture(because that is definitely a severe enough womb to warrant "turning to stone") and control. They are a rarity, as the majority live deep in the caverns of the earth, far from where those who wish to take them can reach. Even more so they are prized for their exotic look(most notably by those seeking "play things"), and often aren't overlooked for trivial things that other species would be overlooked for (colors, hair, markings, etc. The rarity of them in itself makes them prized regardless of the neccorakai's appearance or amputations).
