Description
Despite his life ebbing away, his sight slowly fading, there in the shadows emerged a figure of light. A woman. Her face was familiar, a face that had haunted his dreams and nightmares for decades since their last parting... Their last embrace.Loghain's lips parted in realization. Queen Rowan extended a hand, willing him to take it. As their fingers touched all faded to white.

I kinda wish we could see how she was as a mother to know for sure. Whatever they mentioned in the books was way to brief. 
I wish DG would expand more on why "she would feel no need" for loghain to beg for forgiveness like he said below. Perhaps she understood his reasons. Or, if we're feeling evil she didn't truly care for her son(that is pretty bad, but i'm pretty sure she did). We will never know ;o;

I have the same question, if I were Rowan met Loghain in the fade, I would be pissed off, how could he just left my son dead that way?
but first of all, pissed off Maric first, lack of caring for Cailan. totally sad!
