Tell me about it. The first time I went through Horizon, I just wanted to chop his head off, how dare he! But then I remembered that the Virmire survivors and Liara were just the filler and are meant mostly for the third ME.
I personally thought he'd fit into the story somewhat differently, but then again, I never thought Shepard will die so bluntly in your face in the friggin' opening cutscene...
