Description
The Prothean Empire at its prime.The three ladies are OCs of mine - Areen [ʌɾɪ:n], Nyu [nijʊ] and Teishen [tʰejʃən] of Vessala colonies. Mass Effect 'verse cca 50k years ago.
The Prothean (Teishen) is a colony 'magistrate'. The other alien (Areen), of 'subservient' race native to the colony, is her assistant / servant and a good friend (believe it or not) ...and the kid (Nyu) is a curious little bugger.
Might look all sunshine and bunnies.. but the story surrounding these characters is getting darker and darker. You know... politics, rebelling races aaaaaand eventually Reapers. Plotbunnies are trolling me : |

I would love to se a game about the fall of the Prothean empire.Or better yet,A MOVIE!Prefferably NOT a shitty one.The protheans are so fucking fascinating,its a shame only Javik survived.But who knows,with all that tech in the ME universe there might be a chance to revive the species.Better not get my hopes up tho lol.

The Statues we first saw on Ilos were from the civilization before the Protheans. The Inusano. Before the Inusano it was the Taidari. Awesome work.

Beautiful – your art is very emotive and it really fits my fourth stage of grief after ME3 ending ; ). And you know, while looking at it I started to think that maybe ME4 is going to take place +50k years ago. They could try placing it in the future, but would they be able to find a greater threat than the Reapers? I don’t think so. Besides what would be the canon ending?

To be honest I’d play in anything in the ME world. First, I’d like to have an DLC (hell, I’d even pay for it) that would preserve the relays, although it doesn’t seem like it. But anyway – this world is so interesting, that to me it would be fun to play in a sequel or a prequel.

já si tedy Protheany vždycky představoval tou elegantní strohostí jako Římany v těch lepších dobách.
a ve trojce Javik potvrdil, že sice trestali vzpoury, ale respektovali práva těch, co se podřídili

o.O imo Římani byli leccos jen ne strohý. Co se Protheanu tyče snažila sem se vychazet trošku z designu Ilosu (architektura) a samozrejmě z Javikova brnění. Jinak je to jeden velkej 'asspull ' takřikajic
Pravě, pravě.. sice asimilovali kultury do svoji ale zas na druhou stranu uvnitř imperia mohl byt relativní klid a pohoda. Tak obrovsky galakticky imperium by nemohlo fungovat byt založeno čistě na 'zotročování' ras.

It's sort of a strange feeling; on one hand it would have been pretty enlightening to meat these races 50k years ago; on the other hand had they survived, and we became advanced enough to leave Earth, the Protheans would have made us indentured servants. Knowing the nature of Humans, I doubt our answer would have been "Yes"...

Yes, my thoughts exactly.
Although, looks like proteans actually valued 'competition' ...it gave them the chance to prove they indeed are the dominant race in the galaxy and have the right to unite all life. If they were beaten by some other race - that race would have proven they are stronger and would have ruled. - Javik said as much.
Now the question is... would humanity be stronger than the rest of the galaxy? XD

I'd say we'd be at a stand-still if Humanity was "uplifted". On one hand, Protheans were more advanced and had better equipment. But on the other hand, Humanity has always been resourceful and considering how charismatic we can be, we would have rallied all the other subservient races to our cause, considering the possibility that they share our opinion of being united, but also independent and free from galactic indentured servitude... Until the Reapers arrive and force both sides to work together. But that last part is a different subject all together.
Still, I'd like to have what seen Shepard would have done in the Metacon Wars.

I think the idea of 'assimilation' into a different culture alone would not sit well with 'human nature'.

Probably, but then if you look at how Gaulish/Iberian/Etruscan etc. culture was assimilated over time into Roman culture it's not something that's impossible or unheard of. The important point would most likely be the question "What's in for us if we comply?" Given incentives humans have an almost frightening capability to adapt to changing social circumstances.

As for the Protheans: they really aren't "bad" per se. I just think people are kidding themselves if they think you can become the No.1 power in the galaxy by being nice and enlightened. They were more like a cross of the Roman Empire and the British Empire. Fearsome enemies if push comes to shove, but certainly not the worst overlords one could imagine.

Yes.. I think Javik said it himself - that a race would either choose to become a part of the empire for the sake of survival of all organic life or they'd have a problem. It's not like ALL of the subservient races were dominated by force. Besides it would be hard to maintain control over a gallactic wide empire if the majority of races were unwilling subjects.
Heh.. concering humans. I do believe we'd have a problem XD (knowing the good ol' human nature)
