A birthday gift for the wonderful , HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAN!!!!This picture was a huge challenge for me to compose (figuring out the fighting poses took up half the time I spent on this picture, no lie), but it was worth it for the tighter final lines! (Thanks again to ~progo , my sensei, for helping me along the way~ ;-; ) It was also a ton of fun to paint though, I managed to work a lot looser and the glow/wash was interesting to work out... luckily I did this on cold-press, where it's a lot eaiser to lift. Overall, I'm pretty darn happy with this piece-!!!
Anyway, these are ~Devonition 's absolutely amazing ladies Benny (left) and Aurora (right), and man it was like the ultimate fangasm for me to be able to draw them because I just have these unreasonably huge crushes on his girls??? like, on level with Daisuke Ishiwatari's girls, which is some seriously high praise if'n you know me. (I love you too Leona, next time I'll draw you~! ;-; )
Learning more about Benny my one true love (and musing on her possible demonic tendencies ehuehuehue) a-and getting to help play with prototypes of Aurora has just been so friggin' cool and I just, auuuuugh THESE CHARACTERS. I'M SO IN LOVE WITH YOUR GIRLS, DEVO.

Ahhhhh, it's actually really not that bad, since I could lift out a lot of the color on the cold-press paper? I actually totally redid Benny's (the blonde's) hair, just went back and lifted out all the shading and re-did it.
And it's alright to make mistakes! We can't move forward unless we do.

It's always interesting to me to see your new art after reading comments you've left on mine. Because you make it sound like I know exactly what I'm doing when your art is CLEARLY light years ahead of mine. So when I say it's 'interesting' I mean it's confusing, scandalous and outrageous!
I could not do something like this. I couldn't even get close. So there. That is the truth.

It's just drawing different styles/things, just like I could never do a super-detailed elaborate lineart with a whole cast of fighting characters on a fully-fleshed background with freakin' backgrounds expressing depth THROUGH LINE ALONE. 8I;;

Ahahahahah that's one of the best parts about doing birthday gifts, is suddenly getting their reactions over Skype or whatever and "seeing" them flip out about them, it's always really fun heheheh~ xD

umm is there anyone you're particularly interested in? or even someone of a certain personality type, or with a theme/setting you'd like to do... I dunno I'm just so bad at picking xD;;; (but I can certainly whip up a ref of whoever; I need good refs of more characters anyway but rarely have the motivation to make them unless specifically asked, so... yep!)
and yes, maybe it's because I've been so bad at keeping up with DA, but I can see significant improvement! C:

I guess I'm still a big fan of your Alizaron cast, eheheheh... <:'D You know me, I love Shru, and fun, outgoing characters like him. I'm not much for bookish types, but that's about all. xD It's been a while since I've seen your Alizaron chars, so I could use a refresher on some of them! (I also just don't know too much about them story-wise, either?!?)

I suck at managing multiple accounts too xD;;; I guess for me DA is the one that became a lower priority? DA is all about finding the right crowd, the people who stick around and are interested in your work and active about commenting. And I've never found that. (And I know it has nothing to do with the quality of my work; I just suck at finding those people I suppose?) I don't want or care about having a lot of watchers or popularity, I just want to talk to people about art and stories... and I've found it easier to locate those interested parties on other sites, where the experience has been far more rewarding than pouring time into DA with little return. (I'm not trying to complain; it's just that I don't have endless time to devote to the internet... I've never felt a sense of community from DA, so I've started turning to other places.)
...but ah well, I can still send you story info here if that's what works best~! What would you like to know? (cause I can pretty much textwall forever; it's nice to have a starting point xD;; )

and um, the... whole cast? that is a lot of people <_< the main characters are Phantom and Shru, and there are a handful of significant supporting cast members... but then there are a lot of side characters beyond that; do you actually mean everyone or just the important ones? (but either way I should probably continue via note so I'm not leaving rambly unrelated comments on your picture xD;; )
