I love all the figure poses, but that last image with the barbed wire really gets me~
Love the concept and the contrast.

Ahhh, thank you! I barely used pencil for a long time, and I still get irritated at it for smudging... I'm just so used to ballpoints and gel pens, ahahah! xD

I'm exactly the opposite. Jammed pencil for years and years and years, only recently started dabbling with pens. I've gotten much better with pens than I used to be, but sometimes when I make mistakes, I'm all like I CAN'T ERASE THIS FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Haa, Asch scorns everyone. I definitely like his hair more after he's been in the rain a bit.
I ~like~ your animals. ^^ They remind me of the tuatara and petrel which often live together in the wild. ;D
('m so bad at keeping up with Monkey King-related pop culture. I'm a terrible Chinese person. ;; )

T-T-TUATARAS! Holy crap I love those little buggers~ ;-;
And yeah, Asch's hair is... addictingly fun to draw?!? Hahahah! It's more fine than Luke's chunkier hair, heheh...
And oh wow man, I like, knew you were asian but not Chinese for sure, hah! Monkey King is so badass, though... he's like, my favorite mythological character, doin' whatever he wants and being awesome and never getting caught up in a romantic relationship... xDD

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2012-09-25 13:15:04 +0000 UTC]
Also, holy freakin' shit man I didn't even know Tuataras can live that long! Just looked it up and it's nuuuts! Now I really wanna meet one, even if I know it'll bite me. ;-;

Pfahahah! I'll admit, you do look not quite Chinese... xD
But I should probably be disowned too, I hate chives and ginger, so I don't actually like eating dumplings... :s
Gyahahahah!! But WuKong still manages to get away with so much shit and his attitude never really changes under Tang Sen, so-! I just, I dunno, all my childhood memories are of watching/reading JttW... I'm trying to get into Suikoden and Three Kingdoms right now, but they're a looooot harder to understand... xD

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2012-09-25 13:20:20 +0000 UTC]
Hahahah, I collected the manga for Suikoden III, but I'm also looking into the original chinese version, Water's Margin or whatever it translates into! ...Still a huge cast, eeeyup. 9_9;;;
And, hmm, I can see the Mexican look, hahah! And ohman my grandma loves finding the MOST bitter bitter melons and making us always try it... u_u

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2012-09-26 00:36:56 +0000 UTC]
Hahahah, as someone who's had a bit of both... I think I definitely prefer smaller casts, or at least casts very strongly centered around 1-2 characters or so. Then again, I live for complex characterization/character development, so in general I just find that it's incredibly hard to juggle a huge cast with equal character development, and it usually turns more into stereotypes interacting than actual complex character relationships. If a character grows, or if you can put them into unexpected situations/make them do unexpected things, then I doubt someone would get bored of a character! Depends on how involved the "lesser" characters are, I guess, too...
But yeah, personally I'm driven by stories centering around 1-2 core characters who're always being pushed in their limits. c:
And ahahahah, soy sauce does tend to make a lot of things better! I love soy sauce tofu with a sprinkle of sugar~ *_*

Ahahahah, there are exceptions definitely, George R.R Martin came to mind... but I find that often in those series it's hard to like a lot of the characters??? (I actually dislike a fair bunch on GoT so... hahahah;; )
I just like having a few characters to focus on too, because I mean, I'll like minor characters who just get ignored further on, so it kinda leaves me disinterested in the series as a whole since usually I'll just end up rooting for one or two of them!

47ness In reply to Laitma [2012-09-28 00:34:35 +0000 UTC]
There's always been a love of stories where loathesome characters are introduced and then bumped off by each other. ÂĶP
Hee, I have an unhealthy love of minor characters sometimes. esp. if the two main characters are too lovey-dovey.

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2012-09-28 01:25:50 +0000 UTC]
JEEZ MAN WHY ARE YOU ME
the romantic couples almost ALWAYS bore me to death. I always somehow manage to end up loving all the minor characters that die, too... ;-;

47ness In reply to Laitma [2012-09-28 01:35:30 +0000 UTC]
It's especially bad when they drag the actual falling-in-love until the very, very end of the story. Or it's a constant roller coaster of MIXED FEEL. ÂĶU

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2012-09-28 01:39:52 +0000 UTC]
AUGH, EXACTLY. D: Usually romances just play out in so few predictable ways, I get so bored with them!

YEAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
I find that, awman, if I'm spoiled as to ANYTHING about a movie/series/whatever, my expectations for that thing can entirely ruin my experience. :/ Like, not even something big! Someone told me about how Joker dressed up as a nurse in Dark Knight, and somehow I just spent the whole movie waiting for that scene, went kinda "meh" when I saw it, and just, like... I don't know, it somehow made the whole thing less enjoyable for me!!! D8

47ness In reply to Laitma [2012-09-30 23:53:38 +0000 UTC]
Same dealio for me. :Ã I kept myself super sequestered about Dark Knight Rises for four straight weeks before finally watching it.
I think there's something to be said about experiencing something for the very first time (or any time) on your own terms. It becomes something precious and a part of you. ÂĶ>

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2012-10-02 02:17:26 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, definitely, or just--going in with no expectations at all. Like, I just wanna know if something's quality/got fair ratings, I don't even want to know what the storyline is, even that could make it weaker for me somehow!

47ness In reply to Laitma [2012-10-02 09:19:45 +0000 UTC]
A lot of marketers are smart enough to keep the plot hidden away and just hope the pretty book cover/movie poster is enough. XD Some of the movie trailers I helped work on try to tell as little as possible (to the point where you think it might be an entirely different genre).
ð: 0 âĐ: 1
Laitma In reply to 47ness [2012-10-03 01:54:28 +0000 UTC]
Hahahah, right??? Sometimes trailers show pretty much ALL the actiony scenes in a movie and then there's just nothing left to see... xD
ð: 0 âĐ: 1
47ness In reply to Laitma [2012-10-03 14:23:19 +0000 UTC]
It doesn't help that most of the movies now are just dumb remakes. So they feel like they can show you the entire plot ahead of time (but, they'll have a Trojan horse plot twist, which they spend so much effort keeping secret, they won't even realize how bad an idea it is.) >ÂĶU
Of course, a dumb remake is just a dumb remake.

Oh maaaaaaaan, don't get me started on that, too!! It's so friggin' hard to see something nice and original these days--in the realm of fantasy/scifi, where they have the most potential these days with the graphics and all-!! But noooo, remakes and twilight clones are what they go for...

47ness In reply to Laitma [2012-10-05 14:39:06 +0000 UTC]
Not too long ago a cohort at the studio I freelance at said he worked on a Teen Wolf remake series for MTV. We, being older n' crap, remembered the 80's comedy movies with Michael J. Fox, but (surprise) the remake is a moody, unfunny Twilight clone.

Laitma In reply to 47ness [2012-10-08 02:19:03 +0000 UTC]
Pfahahahahah!!! I've actually watched the first season of that, and ohgod it IS moody and angsty and and... and just pretty bad overall... xD;;
(A friend and I kind of just watched it as this thing to snicker about while having an art party; but mostly we just couldn't get over the main character's crooked jaw... xD )
