Description Stella Nox Fleuret's rapier, from Final Fantasy XV

MDF (medium density fibreboard) of varying 6mm and 12mm thicknesses were used to build the base of the rapier. The tip of the blade was coated with a few layers of cyanoacrylate glue to protect from damage.

The hook at the end of the handle was made from 3 layers of 0.75mm styrene. The hook extends slightly into the MDF handle to increase stability.

The runes on the blade were made of super sculpey, followed by a coat of cyanoacrylate glue to prevent them from accidentally dropping off the blade.

The basket hilt consists mostly of acrylic rods. The rods were heated with a heat gun, then bent into shape. The various components were held together with acrylic glue. Epoxy putty was used to form the remaining portions of the hilt, where the rods converge.

The hilt was connected to the handle with a bunch of acrylic dowels. Cyanoacrylate glue, followed by E6000 glue, were added over the dowels to reinforce the joint.

The remaining details on the handle were made with slops of epoxy putty, which were then shaped and sanded down.

Painting was done in the order of 3 layers of gloss black spraypaint, 2 layers of Rustoleum Specialty Metallic gold spraypaint, and 1 layer of clear coat spray.
