God, looking at this picture makes me wish I could draw. I SUCK! The image is not only impressive but it has emotional appeal that makes me say "What is this guys back story!"
Also, I can TELL that this is a guy...which can be hard to do with some artwork I've seen (believe me, I see hundreds of male characters that look so female that I just expect them to put on a dress).

actually i've only started drawing for real 4 years ago. that's when i started DA,too XD
wow, that's the most touching comment i've ever heard of. i mean, lots of people say, "hey your art is wonderful", "it's beautiful" or the likes-but noone has really been too taken by it as to be curious about the character as well T^T

I do try...I doodle a lot...but it's not good enough for DA yet.
The art is beautiful, but the meritt of a GREAT artist is someone who not only draws well, but can give even more to what they draw. Art needs you to want MORE and it needs to inspire emotions in the viewer/reader! You need to look at or read it and say "I can't get enough of this!"
But...then again...part of it may be because I'm a writer.

my first posts in DA is not something to be really proud of. but because of the critiques and friends here on DA who never cease to encourage and give advises to me, somehow, i've managed to improve it's all thanks to them
haha, perhaps because you are a writer? i can never be that much of a critique myself. although i try to "decode" an art in my own way XDDD

That is encouraging. When I draw something really worth posting, I might just put it up. Perhaps I will get the same responses that you did.
I just have my own opinions on what art is. However, I've heard some people tell me that, because I write and don't draw, my viewpoints and opinions are different than those that do.

haha, you should. let your drawings speak up for you. harsh criticisms are perhaps unavoidable, but don't let them be your stumbling block. make them your new challenge. and i'm sure you'd meet a critique just good enough to tell you your weaknesses and strengths. thngs that you need to improve and what not. believe me. deviants just are SO helpful :>
haha, i think you're right about that. i have a highschool friend whom i call "mama" she's a really good artist. actually, her writings have been featured in the school journal a couple of times.,,,her opinion just deviates from others...but that was what made her cool
err..i'm not that very particular about technology shiz. i dunno how to explain things XDD

The beauty of futuristic technology is that you can invent your OWN kind of technology basics. If you were basing it off of today or in the past, you would have to know a lot. But in the future, it can be changed to your liking. I've written about a cybernetic human before...(not a good story, so it probably won't make it to DA), but that's why I say that.
