I find it funny how just as SU was brand new, so many artists made fan gems of the same name! XD But hey, just goes to show this show has lots of surprises and still more to come.

"All you want to do is see me turn into..."
One of the episodes that let you know that whatever they all have going, with each other and with their own issues, they just love Steven so much. Snipping at each other the whole time, and can't form Opal until Steven's in danger, at which point they can suddenly work in perfect sync as her. And when Steven isn't sure his friends are in there, she immediately acts to reassure him by singing a bit of the song.
They really are a family. And whether Steven knows it or not, he really is the center.

I admittedly loved this episode a lot. Steven's reaction to Opal was so adorable, and she was so gentle and sisterly/motherly with him. I wish we got to see more of her, though. I was really intrigued by her. Like, is she her own separate entity, more than merely the sum of her two composite parts? Is she just Pearl and Amethyst's minds working in unison (like the Drift from Pacific Rim)? I MUST KNOW. I really hope more of this is explained in the future episode where Garnet and Amethyst combine. I'm really looking forward to that one.

SU is definitely one of my favorite new shows. It has a really nice feel to it. I'm definitely looking forward to the episode where Garnet and Amethyst fuse.

maybe it's cause I don't watch the show a lot, what do they do exactly? I mean they have these magic gems that give em powers except steven doesn'tΒ know how to use his, and then there's a girl he likes and a goat....I am lost. Anyway it's a nice picture, I enjoy the cheerful mood and the cool colors as well as the characters in silhouette (I think that's how you spell it) Glad to see your work

Allow me to help clarify, friend! (Thanks, chaosbeast9! 
Now that we're 13 episodes in (going on 14!), it's apparent that the Crystal Gems are a race of magical warrior women who are not human or mortal but live on Earth and help protect it from various monsters who possess magic gems. Which they collect for... some reason, but the central story is Steven's coming-of-age as he lives as both a kid and a Crystal Gem warrior (I think he's the first male Gem!) Also it seems the Crystal Gems are pretty detached from society, and Steven helps them understand. It's rather cute!
Another big part aside from monster/gem hunting is Steven's interactions with the colorful citizens of Beach City! Steven loves meeting others and making friends, hence the girl and the goat. And lion! Yes, he has a lion now. XD

Well it's a fun show and I have seen a few episodes, and that is a pretty compelling synopsis you presented. Coming-of-age stories are fascinating, and would help give me perspective on the current Cartoon Network...I'm sorry...did you say a LION? NOW you've got my attention! Always a pleasure discussing things with you, now I'm going to watch some Studio Ghibli films and draw my favorite scenes.

It's a show about a kid training to become a hero, they fight monsters and magic based disastersΒ (but there are no villains).

maybe i'm too traditional, but I prefer a clear antagonist and looming but felt threat to give the story direction and purpose, I don't mind a story-of-the-week procedural but there needs to be something at stake and something the characters are striving to obtain otherwise there seems no reason for me to get invested...but maybe that's just me

There are objects to obtain, all over the planet there areΒ artifacts the hero's have tooΒ collect to keep them from altering the planet. No idea where the items areΒ sent after there teleported away, but fans hope to find that out.
And yeah, everyone's starting to agree with the villain thing.
