Here is one of the many images that will be going into SOLSTICE , the newest illustration book from WWW.LAMINMARTIN.COM . There is something magical and mysterious about mermaid folklore that has inspired many artists such as Munch, Waterhouse, Beardsley, Pyle, Rubens, and Bosch. So in keeping with the tradition of the folklore I came up with my version of a mermaid, but with a slight twist. She is unique in the sense that she has horns that are derived from her being born with dragon blood.Related content

the first thing I am a pulled to is her first. You did an excellent job on the softness of her facer with the gentle highlight on her lips. Aesthetically pleasing. Her face has a lot of emotion and energy invested into it as well as her body. Normally you see paintings now these days that are stiff with a lack of energy. Here, you captured that fluidity with her body rhythm and position. I enjoyed following the texture of her arms all throughout her body as well. Very delicate piece. There is something truly magical and mysterious in this piece with a grace of elegance over it. Nicely done!

Thank you! I wanted to give her a slight reptilian feel so that there was a contrast between the softness of her face and chest verses the scaliness of the rest of her body.
