What brush do you use for the pixel?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lanahpyon In reply to MyMilkshakeVoid [2018-03-11 12:00:30 +0000 UTC]

In paint tool sai it's a brush called 'Binary' , it's a specific pixel brush
but I think it depends on the program you're using

nerdface9000 [2017-12-03 20:28:52 +0000 UTC]

should i use 300 or 72 dpi?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lanahpyon In reply to nerdface9000 [2017-12-03 20:37:45 +0000 UTC]

dpi makes no difference for creating pixel art, it's more like how many pixels there are in one inch when printing, but you normally don't print pixels
so basically it doesn't matter : v :

Sailormooonlove [2017-11-09 23:57:54 +0000 UTC]

what program do you use to make your pixel art?
and is it free?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lanahpyon In reply to Sailormooonlove [2017-11-10 00:05:46 +0000 UTC]

I use Paint Tool Sai for drawing/pixeling, it's not free though
but for pixel art the program doesn't really matters, every program with a binary brush (pixel brush) is totally fine because that's all you need to pixel
I'd recommend free programs like Krita, Gimp, Graphicsgale or paint.net c:

Lanahpyon In reply to CocoAshes [2017-07-23 02:31:18 +0000 UTC]

it depends on the program you're using ; v ;
which one do you have?

CocoAshes In reply to Lanahpyon [2017-07-23 02:41:01 +0000 UTC]

oh! i use paint tool SAI but i also have gimp

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lanahpyon In reply to CocoAshes [2017-07-23 02:59:28 +0000 UTC]

For Sai go to the menu called "Canvas" in the top left corner -> go to change resolution and change it there :>
for icons you need 50x50 pixel size

linzer-art [2017-01-11 16:38:54 +0000 UTC]

Helpful! Did you make this in SAI? I made icons back then but at that time I used MS Paint, but I could certainly use the layers function. Do you have a specific tool that only draws one pixel? As my brushes are messy and stuff

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lanahpyon In reply to linzer-art [2017-01-11 16:56:57 +0000 UTC]

yeah I made it in sai~
the pixel tool is called "binary" brush, it's normally there by standard :>

katelove77 [2016-12-15 19:00:47 +0000 UTC]

but how do you animate?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lanahpyon In reply to katelove77 [2016-12-16 18:23:21 +0000 UTC]

I use phothoshop cs5 for that step
basically you pixeled all the frames beforehand (eyes have their own layer so you can change them more easily) and you just need a program that can animate to put all of the frames together to make a gif out of it

here is a little tutorial that will help you ; v ;
