Description The idea came with listening to the song (yep, over and over again). It's true I'm not totally happy with the music video [link] but I do like it. I'm in love with Mr. Wake too... Well, I just wanted to have some fun again and I had it.
A3 paper, charcoal, about 6 hours, lots of fun. No ref pictures this time And no Photoshop again.

And remember, the Darkness is somewhere near... ^^

I have been following Poets of the Fall since I first heard The Late Goodbye in The Fall of Max Payne. When I heard they were doing a song for the next Remedy game (which became Alan Wake) I bought it on that alone. Along the way I felt connected to his preoccupations with staying true to the story and the story wanting things of its own. I could feel and see the meaning because I'm a writer too. The way Poets of the Fall videos go I enjoy it as much as I enjoy the video they have for The Late Goodbye.

As for the artwork...the darkness blocks out everything except Alan, the manuscript's glow, and often some things often come from repeat exposure.

Charcoal is such a difficult medium, imho, to learn... XD I did nothing but make a mess with it during my classes! Even with the super-convient chacoal pencils... Guess I'll just stick with graphite, then!

Yes, yes they are. I had such a hard time transferring my class projects from my uni to my home... Had to be so careful not to smear them.
Have you tried any of those spray sealers that lock the medium in place (for once you have finished).
My father is a pencil artist, and swears by them- and I would be willing to bet they have some for charcoal.

Yes, I have tried, of course. But there's always a problem with fixers. It can ruin your work if you use it too much. But if there's not enough of it and you've touched the drawing with your finger... Nothing of the kind with my pencils though

Never perfect, huh?
XD I just buy cheap frames at discount stores and keep the drawings I really care about framed.
That, or I scan it and call it good- but I'm hardly a traditional artist~

Sad because it's over!

i have started the game on nightmare..
but i stopped for halo reach, borderlands and bioshock 2.
.. and of course the DLC from Assassin's Creed.
But i'm waiting for the last Alan Wake's DLC.. (and i want to buy the book, i saw it on a library!)

yes, in italy you can find it in every bookstore.
it's different from the one on the limited edition of course!
It's the story of Alan Wake as you can... play it on the game!

Aw, your English is absolutely ok It's wonderful that you can find it. The book is pretty new and kinda special You should read it and maybe you'll discover some difference between the game and the book story. Or some secrets
